Still on the summer Baltimore Peach Cake patrol. Usually frequent the newer Bel Air location, but today decided to go to the source. Woodlea on Bel Air road in the city has been in the business for almost 80 years, so no surprise that they have this seasonal delight. The store is large and well lit with numerous counters full of baked goods. The cake in question had big chunks of peaches. The serving was larger than found at other establishments in the area and also cost a bit more. Advise customers to come early to get their cake at the peak of moistness. Overall this family run tradition is hard to beat.
I live in Randallstown and I can't keep my husband out of the place! My daughter lives in Rosedale, I can't drive anywhere ? my husband will ask me about going to see our grandchildren just so he can come to Woodlea Bakery. He's over weight but nobody is going to stop him from eating what he wants. You ? make him HAPPY and that's all I want so keep baking and We'll keep coming! Be Blessed and Stay Safe ? ????
One of the best bakeries we know of. Wide selection of yummy treats. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
I had a piece of the store's strawberry shortcake, and a cup of coffee. Both were good and the women who worked there when I went in were really pleasant and helpful.I will likely go back for more sweet treats in the future.
Cheap tasting pastries. Taste like made from cheap ingredients. Place is old and outdated doesn’t lion very cleanly inside, neither does the girl that puts her fingers all over your pastry. Wouldn’t recommend. Goods aren’t made fresh everyday.
We’ve eaten our fair share of donuts and find all of them to be fairly the same (local bakeries, grocery store bakeries, Dunkin’ Donuts, krispy kreme, etc). THIS bakery proved that superior donuts do exist! Amazing texture, not overly sweet/frosted, and it keeps for several days! They also have a large variety of other cakes and pastries that are also very good! And don’t skip on the massive donut!
I don’t live in B’more any longer, but whenever I visit I head to Woodlea - reliably good cakes and pies, friendly and helpful employees, great prices. The Jewish Apple cake is a long-time favorite. And we had the coconut cake for Easter dinner - it was moist, flavorful, OUTSTANDING!!
I heard about this place while working at Hopkins. Everyone was so excited to hear that I lived so close to it. So I started visiting there. Everything is very good and fresh. People are friendly. My son has a special order on his birthday every year. One year his order was messed up. My son was so disappointed. The owner redid his order and delivered it to us directly. Impressive! We enjoyed hearing his backstory and a little about his family. It was like being with real family and friends.
Been buying their goodies over 50years. The prices have risen over last 10years $$$ and smaller size. Still good quality
Strongly recommend delicious cake and donuts. My family loved the cookies. Staff served with a smile ?
