I decide to take my sister out to a spot we never tried before. We decide to try a vegetarian menu and our choices were kinda limited as this was going to be a later Sunday dinner. I found TLOK online with some pretty good review for its food. As I'm all about crabcakes the vegetarian one offered on the menu intrigued me. We had planned to dine in however this may be the only weakness of the place. The decor and tables leave a lot to be desired however the food surprisingly makes up for ALL of that and some. The tastes and textures were pretty darned good. They were out of a few things which only means we need to go back and try them. Between the two of us we both had Mac n Cheese, Rice and Vegetables. We both substituted those two for items they were out of. The Mac n Cheese was flavorful and really works with the flavor combination. 3 bites getting used to the texture and I was hooked. I felt no need to put any hot sauce or anything additional on it. Now the rice had a medium spicy kick to it, but you became entrenched in the flavor and forgot about any heat it was bringing your way. Touche,' great dish! Now this crab cake I was really skeptical about tasting it because I LOVE MY CRABCAKES! I was expecting a crime to have been committed here but I was dead wrong. I still prefer regular good quality broiled crabcakes however, TLOK did a FANTASTIC job capturing the flavors and not over or under spicing the crabcake. I was pleasantly surprised and would definitely order again. Sister had some Carrot Tuna which I had to be nosy and try. Here was another surprisingly good taste as I do not really eat carrots. Wow, we had a magnificent meal topped off by Iced Tea and Sorrel. Can't wait to return. Excellent choice for vegetarian food.
food was excellent!! Will definitely recommend!
I came here for my first time on Thursday. I had sides-sesame spinach, Mac & cheese, live kale & collards everything was magnificent. Had to go back on Friday. I forgot the black eye pea fritters-They were the BOMB- BOOM blew my mind and the curry cabbage with the lemonade made my day. Love, love this place!
The food was delicious. The ribs, collard greens, and mac & cheese was delicious. I would definitely recommend this vegan restaurant.
We truly enjoyed our meal! It was moderately busy on a Sunday at 1pm, but with one person in front of us we ordered and got our food in about 10 minutes!! My favorite dish was the crab cakes and collard greens. Greens were well seasoned and the crab cake had a crab like texture. The corn bread was very tasty yet not traditional corn bread but a spiced cinnamon creation! The sorrell explodes in your mouth, its pretty sweet but the flavors are great. The ginger drink is also pretty sweet but with a nice ginger kick after taste. The pineapple upside down cake was indistinguishable from a non vegan slice. I will definitely return for more ?.
love vegan foods, sooo many delicious dishes to choose from
If I could leave -1 stars I would. I have been vegan for coming on 2 years. This is the type of food that makes people who are questioning being vegan say that vegan food is disgusting. This food is so terrible, it’s over salted, over cooked, and some of it tastes like it’s straight out of a can. There is no love in this food. I tried way more than what I took a picture of but the rest of it is trashed. Collard greens are my favorite but from here it taste like you are chewing on a box of salt. The chicken tenders are over cooked and taste stale and dry. Mac and cheese doesn’t even have a comparable taste to it, because it’s just that bad. Ribs are over sweetened. Potato salad was absolutely disgusting. The customer service was terrible they forgot half of my meal, and were confused as to where the rest of the order was that I was talking about.I never write reviews but I had to for this store. Even being under the influence didn’t make this food taste decent. Save your money and time and go else where. I wish so bad that I could get my money back on this. I will NEVER go back there again.

You don't have to be vegan to enjoy this place! The food is super good! The staff is super friendly! The restaurant has limited seating, so order take out if you don't wanna chance the seating.I had the lentil patties, collard greens and mac and cheese. Patties were crispy, collard greens were smokey, and there was a ton of mac and cheese!I got to try the ribs and the curry from friends plates. The ribs feel like real meat! The curry was definitely my favorite. Will be back for that!
Yummy food for a fair price! Good size portions too.Wraps come with grilled veggies inside, the crab cake wrap is my favorite. It’s a small, very casual space inside, but there are tall chairs to sit and eat looking out the window if you aren’t taking it to-go.
