Solid ice cream place with lots of flavors. The vegan options are great too!
I really hate to say this, but the Charmery isn’t charming any more. I moved a while ago and came back in town. Of course, Charmery was a priority! But, what??!! I have no idea why they renovated it and took away all the personality and character. Why oh why? It makes me so sad. The original Hampden location, in particular, should feel like Hampden - which it did with the quirky Matt Muir artwork, individual ice cream flavor signs, the funky ice cream cones along the wall .. and yellow paint. Now it looks corporate and could be any ice cream shop in the world - with an electric sign no less!! It’s funny how the small things make such a difference. How can you get excited while waiting in line with an electric sign? Oh no!! But, there wasn’t any line at all, which also felt foreign. Luckily, the ice cream is still great. I’m so so so happy for all their success, but I’m grieving the experience and feel surprisingly sentimental …
The Charmery is a classic and a staple in the community. My personal favorite is the Maryland Mud, but my spouse likes the mud mixed with coffee in a shake. Whatever you choose, you will have a great experience! It's all delicious. If it is a busy night like after a John Hopkins game, it can be pretty packed and the line may go out the door. They are very quick with their service and super friendly!
Very nice and clean at first glance. However, cant order a double scoop cone due to the low temperature of their freezers. They give you a cup with your cone because it melts instantly. If ice cream was served much colder this place would get a much higher score...
Love the unique flavors. Lots of grads when we went. It's the place for wholesome celebration.Funky neighborhood. Tried a vegan bakery down the street. Pizza across the street. Come explore. .
We adore the Charmery for its constantly rotating ice cream, experimental flavors, and at least 2 vegan options for the lactose intolerant of our family. The waffle cones are made fresh in-house and are delicious.
There's never a bad time for ice cream. And while expensive, it's very good. The plastic hypercolor spoons bring me back to my youth and that technology that I thought would change the world.
It was okay I wasn't impressed with the flavors or the shop. I guess I was expecting a little more. I like more traditional flavors and wet nuts other extras and more of a variety. My family, however, enjoyed it and I guess that's all that matters. The staff was kind, professional, and very accommodating. I forgot to get the young gentleman's name.
Loved my visit. First one to this particular location. Great crew! One of my favorite places for hot chocolate with a delicious dollop of tell-tale ice cream.
A Baltimore institution. Get the Old Bay Caramel if it’s your first time. When coming back again and again, the Otterbein Sugar Cookie is my go-to.
