Great and filling lunch! The rolls were huge, do share. Everything was basically a California roll, I'd recommend going for the more unique catches (if available) and the appetizers, recommend the octopus salad and Edamame with garlic sauce.
Absolutely delicious sushi.
Went here for a quick lunch takeout. The service was great and our food was ready quickly. The sushi was good. Very fresh and there were a good amount of options. All and all it was some pretty affordable and good sushi.
Small and quaint, okay prices, sushi seemed to be a bit on the older side and had a bit of a pungent oder, I sent it back and was immediately replaced. Everything had a decent flavor and the rolls are flavorful.
We really love the sushi there I took my friends from out of town and they said it's the best sushi they have ?
Food 8/10Service 10/10Came in for a quick lunch with a buddy. It was a little busy, but the one server handled the room well while he was also playing host.Miso soup:Hot, flavorful, soothing. Perfect for a cold day.Toro nigiri:Delicious and full of flavor. I think there was a brush sesame oil that elevated it, but hands down tasty. But I was disappointed as it looked like it was cut with a full knife so it wasn't "pretty". If that's the worst part ... I'd still order it again.Spicy scallop:Bright, buttery, citrusy, well seasoned, and just the right pop of spice. Will order this again as I wasn't expecting to enjoy it so much.Baked Alaskan roll;A California roll, topped with salmon, baked, then topped with eel sauce. Flavors were great, but the rice from the roll got stuff to the foil the roll is baked on, which caused the roll to rip apart when you tried to eat it. Very difficult to truly enjoy the full bite when half is stuck to the serving tray.
One of the best sushi spots we have been to. We had the shumai, baked scallop California roll, and sweet honey roll. Perfection!
This place was great! They had a large selection of specialty rolls (beware, the portions are huge) and lots of good sake. I wish they offered a little cocktail menu for brunch time! Overall a cute place with a quaint atmosphere

I've been here at least a dozen or so times since they opened and it's always just a very uneven experience.I will say the presentation of each dish is exceptional. No questions about that. As far as taste goes, some of the rolls are amazing. Some are incredibly bland. Sometimes the service is on point and sometimes it's lacking. Sometimes the meal will flow seamlessly and sometimes you sit around waiting for drinks, and then all of the food comes out a odd intervals, and then you sit around waiting for the check. The consistency is a huge issue here.Tonight's dinner was particularly challenging. We had several servers tonight and most were absolutely amazing, but one, who I guess was the hostess as well, was just in a terrible mood that was palpable no matter where she was in the room. It was extremely off putting and made the entire experience a disappointment. Again, just adds to a pattern of inconsistency.Matsuri and Brothers are much better choices for sushi in the neighborhood and I would recommend checking those out first before visiting Shoyou.
