Platinum Amala Spot is the best Nigerian restaurant in Baltimore! No one cooks Spinach Stew (Efo) and many other stews like they do. They’re very authentic. I’m an African American who has lived between Ghana and the US for 20 years now and have eaten both Nigerian and Ghanaian food for 25 years so I’m very picky about my African food. I’ve ordered from Platinum Amala for over a year and I keep coming back. You won’t be disappointed
I'm guessing this is a new restaurant but you guys have to up your game. I ordered Ayamase with rice, not only did it had too much oil, it did not taste nor look like it. Also there was barely any meat in it. It just seems like they are stingy with meat portions like someone said. It's like they cut one meat into tiny portions. I'm all for supporting a black owned business but you should do better.I also ordered okra soup; the okra looked like it was done with a blender and mixed with tomato, no seed at all. Ratio of meat to okro is like 90:10. Like what am I going to do with that small soup? Suya spot is expensive but at least they give good portions. I'm just disappointed since it's my first time ordering there.
This was my first time visiting Platinum Amala. The service was decent but the food was disappointing. The jollof rice was way too smoky, had an unpleasant odor and after taste..... hours later I was still tasting it! The fish portion was extremely tiny and dry. Definitely not worth the price. I'm hoping my experience was just a bad day they were having, being there are so many good reviews listed on here.
Ordered the fufu/egusi soup & it was soooo good!! Spicy but very tasty... Looking forward to trying other dishes.

Some of the best African food I’ve had in my entire life 10/10 would recommend
The best Nigerian restaurant in America. I visited Baltimore, and I was looking for a nice Restaurant to try out some Nigerian food. O lord! This was the best Efo riro I have ever tried in my entire life. Let’s come to the price, you can’t beat it . The Food was very delicious, and before you know it I was there the next day to get some for breakfast. This will be my Go to African Restaurant anytime I am in the DMV area. Final Thought: Excellent Customer service. 10/10.
