Perfect little place for pie (& strongly suggest getting whatever delicious other treats they have like cookies, muffins, etc), a good latte, a place to pick up your farm share. & I love the people who work there
This place is so great! They make very good espresso drinks using a beautiful old school manual espresso machine. I don't know about you, but espresso always taste better to me when extra levers and skill are involved.I ordered a couple of savory pot pies and some sweet for dessert. The chicken pot pie and beef bourguignon were amazing as was the Mexican hot chocolate pie. Not too sweet, perfectly flaky crust and a light, almost flan like chocolate custard. Also a huge surprise was the vegan apple cranberry crumble. So delicious I had to eat the leftovers for breakfast...Can't wait to sample more is the menu soon!
Fresh apples, berries, peaches, and nuts from nearby farms power this place! The pies are great and so is the espresso ?
I stopped by to check the place out because I happened to be in the area. The barista was welcoming and the place was inviting. I had a latte, and it was good. There doesn't appear to be much space for hanging out inside, but the barista said the shop is considering offering outside seating in 2022.
This place is THE SPOT. The coffee slaps, the staff slaps, the atmosphere…you guessed it…SLAPS. But the biscuits and gravy? Hot dang, it’s out of this world. If I got the death penalty and had to choose a last meal, I’d ask for Pie Time’s biscuits and gravy. Don’t you dare sleep on them. It may just be the biggest mistake you ever make.Like a well-rounded quarterback, this place fires on all cylinders. 90/10, 10 thumbs up, this place is the GOAT. You bet your sweet bippy I’ll be back.
Already a neighborhood staple. They are the kindest people serving up very high quality products. They use a lot of local ingredients as well. I recommend the Louisiana lemon and the strawberry rhubarb when in season.
Very tasty sweet pies (both apples - they have two kinds - and the lemon buttermilk were soooo good)!! The meat pies were bland, but that's common here. Definitely will go back...and if you want a 40 proof pecan pie - OMG!! - this is the place!!
Delicious sweet and savory pies. Very chocolatey hot cocoa.
Cute little store in a residential area about a 5-minute walk from the top of Patterson park. We stopped on a Saturday afternoon. There were a few people eating outside and no one inside (honestly I don't recall a lot of indoor seating). The gentlemen helping us was very friendly and talkative and helpful in explaining options and what was in them. There was a reasonable (for the end of the day) but small selection of pies available. Small mini-pies $5 and slightly larger savory pies $10. We ordered a mix and took them to go. Far and away, the lemon custard was the favorite of our group as it had a strong tart lemon flavor. The peach pie had a lot of ripe and fresh peaches that were delicious. We happen to be crust snobs and love a good flaky buttery crust, and that is not what was on any of the 4-types of pies we had. The mini-pie crusts were unremarkable standard fare, and while the peach pie crust was clearly homemade it was thin and not flaky. So, depending on your crust preference, that may be good/ bad. Overall it was a good experience.
I bought a slice of apple and peach and didn't think they were all that good. My grandma made world class pies and these don't even come close. But the service was great.
