Wonderful restaurant. Unfortunately there were a few bumps in service. Our bottles of wine did not come until we were midway through our entree. The food taste and quality was excellent.Atmosphere: 4 a bit loud but a very cozy feelFood: 4 excellent qualityService: 3 lots of waiting for drinks and wine.Value: (cost vs. the experience): 3
The service was excellent, and the food was wonderful. Each dish was as beautiful as it was delicious. Will definitely be going back to try some of the other dishes.
Petit Louis is a French inspired bistro. A few miles south of the Baltimore Beltway in the Roland Park neighborhood. In good weather, it has outdoor and indoor seating. We had omelettes and the croque monsieur. Everything was delicious. A great choice if in Baltimore for a casual lunch, dinner, or brunch. Moderately priced. To be clear this is about 5 miles NORTH of the Inner Harbor attractions.
Petit Louis is one of the gems of Baltimore.Every appetizer and entree I've had here absolutely slaps and can hold its own against some of the best restaurants in the country. Dishes are not overly complicated and every component had purpose on the plate and is executed with perfection. Duck confit, beet salad, and braised veal are some of the best hitting dishes to our palates that we've ever had. ? I lick my plates here with little to no shame, it's honestly that good. Only caveat is that I haven't been as blown away by the desserts as much as the appetizers, so I skew towards indulging in their apps.If you haven't been to Petit Louis, you need to fix that A ? S ? A ? P ?.
The atmosphere is great if you miss France. The food is mostly good but overpriced. You can get great steak frites, a good creme caramel. Salmon cooked right; no complaints but why am I paying this much? For the interior design that can really make a person happy. I have had glaces Maison that I could make better (less icy) myself and cheese that was not perfectly "affiné" as they say, and if I sound hoity- toity it's because this place has pretentious it doesn't live up to. A very pleasant experience that doesn't quite live up to the hype.
I’m not going to be commenting on the food other than to say good, far better than average but also far from great. I will comment on the experience however. I’ve been dining here for 15 years or more. In the past it was always an enjoyable evening with knowledgeable and sufficient numbers of wait staff. My greatest criticism back then was noise levels that sometimes made conversation difficult Over the years things have changed. Johnny’s was opened creating more customers but inadequate numbers of parking spaces. With some luck you were able to find one fairly quickly nearby and walkable Then came Covid. Outdoor dining, more customers, same inadequate parking, Took 3 different people to wait on us, take order, bring food then check. Insufficient staffing. A shame and all due to greed.
Been coming here for years and it’s consistently outstanding. First time in a couple years and the steak knives are amazing! Feels like a finely crafted dagger or dearth, and looks like the knife my pappy used to gut fish with. I will be coming back soon to wield this blade. About to eat the veal now, had to write a review between courses
Tres bon! Excellent all around. Food, wine, service. Such a memorable meal.Omelette, short ribs, mussels, pomme frittes,Desserts, cocktails....the best
I had a lovely lunch at Petit Louis. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, service was perfect and the food is delicious and served nice and hot the way hot food should be!
Soups are fantastic, and other brunch foods were pretty good, too. Service was also good. The restaurant itself is a little crammed.
