Food is good we’ve been to multiple locations and will dine in occasionally.Called in to order for pick up and when I got the total I wondered if I ordered incorrectly.I inquired about it, when I was informed there is a 15% tip for carry out?Not a fan of automatic tip even when you pick up your own food, this is normally reserved for when you require an additional service like someone waiting on you, bringing drinks, cleaning tables etc. Could you imagine any food you order had a hidden 15% up charge? They could just charge more for the food, which would be a stretch because the tacos are not cheap. Overall I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up as I didn’t see this policy on the website.
Papi's is a standard go-to restaurant for me and my family. Food is solid, drinks are lovely, service is attentive, and the music/atmosphere make for a fun experience every time. Additionally, they have a wide selection of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options for those diets. They even have a separate gluten free menu that they say is printed on gluten free paper.
Everything good, service and vibe all good❤️
They have Vegan, pork, beef, and chicken tacos!...and the place has parking! I don't like that the 20% tip is built into the check, although I will say that customer service has been outstanding each time I've been. The vegan Nachos are a perfect indulgence, but they aren't spicy at all. This food definitely seems toned down. Their spiciest hot sauce has less kick than ketchup. When is the Fell's location opening up again? Their food was packed with flavor... I'm not sure, why this location's food isn't as flavorful. My friend ordered the beria tacos and loved them!
I don't know WHY!!! This restaurants has this many stars...I try/travel different Mexican places regularly for fun. This place has nothing authentic to the flavor everything is AMERICANIZED and bland, no develop flavors at all and then let's talk about the prices HORRIBLY EXPENSIVE if the food is good I don't mind the price but this place didn't come close to even a basic taco at home. Decor is nice but the vibe isn't there, staff is sweet. Seems like a very gentrified neighborhood still trying to find its culture...Yikes I'm sorry just being honest.
Edit: updating my review because Papi’s reached out immediately and apologized for the experience. A+ customer service (and maybe a sign I should keep ordering tacos/quesadillas instead of salads)Love Papi’s and order from them often. The food is always so good and delivery is fast. I hate to down vote, but last night I ordered a $17 salad that was supposed to have avocado and didn’t. Not the biggest deal, I assume it was either an oversight or shortage of ingredients, but wish this was reflected in the price.
We ate in the patio shed with the heaters which’s pretty nice and I liked. There’s a heater by every table on the wall. The servers were nice. We got the pina pyre margarita and the Dave gjerde margarita. Both were good. We started with the queso which I feel like didn’t have much flavor to it but with the addition of the hot sauces at the table, I liked it.I thought the birria tacos were alright. The dipping broth wasn’t very flavorful. Mostly like a very light beef broth. We got the lengua tacos and the carnitas tacos. I feel like they pretty much tasted the same. But the meat on both was tender if a little dry. Again, the hot sauces were good and helped a lot. Overall, not bad and I’d come back again for drinks and a snack.
This place is your typical dive bar. The drinks are strong and the people are fun. Normally I would’ve taken individual pictures of each taco but the mountain of cheese topping has pretty much disguised everything underneath. The carnitas tacos were the best ones. The others we ordered I didn’t really care for. I really liked how they package their chips and salsa. I’ve actually never seen anywhere do that even post quarantine. So kudos to them for taking that extra precaution. Overall it was pretty average stuff ?
I absolutely love Papis. I typically eat from them about once a month. I always get the Birria tacos, until last night I expanded my feast with adding the chicken tinga quesadillas, chips & queso, guacamole, Spanish rice, of course my Birria tacos, the Churros & caramel, & picked up some Margaritas on my way home. DELICIOUS!!!!
Wow, what a great place. The salsa menu was a really refreshing list of options. I had chorizo quesadillas and they were great. The atmosphere was fun and festive. I highly recommend. We will be back.
