Real Greens, Mac & Cheese very tasty, corn bread made from scratch Garlic Parmesan Chicken wings was very tasty. However food plate was too small for cost. Reason being I got those pieces of wings but two pieces of wings is one wing so five pieces is only two whole wings and a piece. I payed $38.00 for those two plates with a ginger ale. This place is across the street from court house. You will have to pay for parking in parking garage/ they have not started dine in so we carried out. Lady taking order was great. Menu is pretty simple and straight forward. Looking Soul food then here is the place.
Our order was a delivery order. The quality of the food delivered to us was poor, as the fried chicken was hard and appeared not to have been freshly cooked. The sweet potato fries were stale, black and burnt. On the other hand, the greens, crab cake, mac and cheese and sweet potato fries were great. I may possibly give this restaurant a second chance. If they have integrity, they will ensure delivered food is the same quality as takeout and food served in the restaurant.
I had jury duty and was pleased to hear about this Cafe upon entering the cashier was pleasant and I was excited that I picked the right place for lunch, however 15 minutes of waiting on my crab cake sandwich platter) I was informed that my order wasn't in the system. After waiting another 10 minutes I received my food only to be very disappointed. The crab cake wasn't done at all. Moisture all the way through it and very sloppy. The crab cake wasn't appealing at all and if I didn't have to return to jury duty I would have demanded my money back. I love patronizing Black owned businesses but I don't think I'll be back to this one.
I’m visiting the area and wanted some soul food. This was IT! I ordered the Im wings, mac n cheese and greens. Everything was soooo flavorful and delicious. Literally it taste like back home and I’m a southern girl. My husband had the pasta, very tasty and creamy. Didn’t even need extra sauce. We will definitely be eating here again before we leave.
Food was very tasty but the portion sizes could have been larger for the price we paid.On the day we went they were not busy but there was a loud argument coming from the kitchen. Not a good look in front of paying customers. Someone came out and asked if we were had been taken care of. That was nice but offering us something to drink while we waited could have been polite given what we witnessed and was ready to leave.
The boyfriend and I got the next phaze burger with sweet potatoe fries and the southern fried wing platter. The burger was juicy and flavorful and cooked to a perfect medium well with a generous helping of bacon, crisp lettuce and tangy bbq sauce on a nice fluffy bun. The wings were good too, and the greens and mac and cheese tasted authentically home made. Very good spot for soul food and very COVID safe with reservation only dining.
Food was decent but it was over seasoned a tad bit other than that the place was wonderful the hostess was very polite and on point!! Ambiance was nice as well ?
This was my first time ordering from here. The food was really good. The chicken wingettes was thoroughly cooked and had a nice little crunch to them, slightly over seasoned, but still good. I enjoyed the collard greens and seasoning was on point as well as the rice pilaf. Will be ordering again and definitely recommend this restaurant.
I am in Baltimore visiting and sadly every place I’ve eaten has been disappointing. I tried this restaurant on a whim wanting to support a black own business. WHEN I TELL YOU HOW AMAZING THE FOOD IS. The greens and Mac and cheese are awesome. But the CRAB CAKE. Is quite possibly one of the best crab cakes I’ve ever eaten. The portion is a good size and it’s literally FULL of blue crab meat. It’s so flavorful!!! It comes with a sauce but it DOES NOT need it. The sweet potato pie is amazing as well. Not too sweet but just enough to curb your sweet tooth after an amazing meal. I will probably order here again before I leave because this place is 100 percent worth it.
I visited on a trip to Baltimore, the atmosphere and service was great. I had the salmon served with rice with mac cheese and collard greens as a side. The mac and cheese was different but good, the collard greens and salmon was so good. The rice was too hard and I didn't care for the sauce as much.We were charged a 20% in dining fee which we were not advise of prior to seating or ordering.
