Good time with my 3 year old and great pizza
I love a neighborhood pizza place with a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere. Matthew's nails that. I had heard that they only serve smaller personal pizzas so I was prepared for that quirk, but what I couldn't have possibly been prepared for was the flavor! The pizza is incredibly, mouth-wateringly tasty. If it's your first time, try the margarita pizza. You won't be disappointed.
So we arrive at 8:06pm attempt to grab a table and start thinking about what we want to order. Keep in mind we have no idea that they close at 8:30pm- the website says closes at 11pm on Saturday. A women comes at us as we attempt to sit down - yelling WE CLOSE AT 8:30pm and WE STOP SERVICE AT 8:00PM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We responded ok ???????????? We left and will never ever return- such a disappointment
I haven’t gotten a Matthew‘s pizza for quite some time now. The only thing I recommend is there mozzarella pie no toppings. It is amazing. The cheese is always crispy and well done the crust is always well done and crunchy. It is the best pizza on the planet hands-down. But I do not recommend anything else on the menu. I wish I could bring my own drink because their fountain sodas are always flat. Highly recommend the pizza.

I have been going to Matthew’s pizza for over 20 years. The pizza is definitely unique and delicious. The pizza is always crispy and well done. The cheese is so delicious. But I will say the only good thing and Matthew’s pizza is the mozzarella pizza pie. I’ve had a salad and It was not great the appetizers were never that good and the soda is often flat. But definitely get yourself a mozzarella pizza pie
A must have when in or around Baltimore!Right on Eastern Avenue near the east corner of Patterson Park. Matthews has been in the community forever.They have many pizza options. From three cheese (my favorite), crab, Margareta, meat, and more. The traditional is a bit of a deep dish, but you can also order thin crust too. If it's your first time, definitely start with a traditional though. In addition to the pizza, they have pasta, subs, salad, etc. I really like their ranch dressing. If you're wondering what appetizer to start with, definitely try the meatballs!I love pizza. Have been coming to Matthews for years, and it has never disappointed.

Oh My Goodness... This is THE PLACE TO GO! I had a good feeling about this place when I hit door. The first person I met was Julia who when I told her it was my first time there took her time to explain the menu to me. Ordered a large crab pie with diced shrimp, a large pizza with both cheeses... half pepperoni and mushroom... half sausage and onion. A salted Carmel chessecake and a Limoncello cake. The crab pie with diced shrimp was delicious... there sure was plenty of crab (and shrimp) on that pie. I'm the pepperoni and mushroom guy... that took me back... I wasn't sure if I was in NY or Philly... but I was in Highlandtown! I couldn't get enough of this pizza! Had to taste the salted Carmel Cheesecake and it was fantastic. That's going to go great with my coffee. Tasted the Lemoncello cake and that sent me to another planet it was so good. That will be perfect with my tea. Matthew's Pizza is all that and then some. They have been around for 79 years. I see why people rave about it... I'll be back!
I have been coming here with family for years . The quality has never gone down if anything the food has only gotten better . The quality of service is amazing . The salad for a starter is a go to , the three cheese pizza with pepperoni, the meat lovers , and the margherita are always a hit, and dont forget to grab a cannoli for dessert.
