I had been craving a good croissant for a few weeks, so I decided to give this place a try today. I am so happy that I did. It is a small little bakery with a great selection of pastries, tarts, and croissants (sweet and savory). They have a rotating selection so you never know exactly what you'll be getting that day but I enjoy that variety. My husband and I bought an almond croissant, a ham and gruyere croissant, and two lemon meringue tarts. Everything was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be back. It is worth noting that the coffee options are limited and there is no seating so this is more of a grab and go place. The perfect stop to add some deliciousness to your weekend cup of coffee at home.
I just grabbed a strawberry and cream cheese danish from them this morning. It was quite possibly the best pastry I've ever had. Friendly service, good location, etc etc, but the pastry...
The lemon Bundt cake was lifechanging. Can’t wait to try more items
Best chocolate chip cookies in Hampden in my opinion. My daughter had her first croissant here and I can tell she's definitely a fan. Service was friendly. I can't wait to go back.
Best croissant I've had in a long time. Best croissant in Baltimore for sure. I was a pastry chef in the fine dining industry for 15 years. She has mastered the croissant. beautifully done. I will be sending many your way. Well done chef!
What a great addition to Hampden. Some of the best croissants I’ve had in a very long time. Buttery, flaky and simple. Also recommend their tarts and morning buns.
Friendly staff and great pastries, I will be back!
Far and away the best croissants I’ve ever had. The bakers here are extremely talented. The cakes and other desserts are also god tier. Would strongly recommend.Update 4/3/22: the scones are out of this world too.
The crispiness of the croissant is heavenly. Ordered muffin, ham and cheese croissant and chocolate croissant and they are all good. The hazelnut cake is a bit too sweet for my taste though.I just wish they open for more days and later. But I will happily walk 30 minutes just for their pastries.
Literally just visited, bought a few croissants. The first bite into my first croissant was a literal "wow" moment. These are quite possibly the best I've had in a long, long time.Their brand/name is so apt. The croissants have a crunchy, browned exterior with a great bite characteristic of the shop's namesake (the Maillard reaction). The interior is soft and delicate, with just the perfect amount of done-ness.First impressions matter a lot, and Maillard has definitely earned a repeat customer in me.UPDATE: Went back today. Nothing has changed, this place is absolutely phenomenal.
