Impressive Indian restaurant! Loved chicken korma and eggplant curry. Strawberry lassi was tasty too. Keema naan was so well cooked as well.Just be warned, even medium spicy is pretty spicy!
Trusted the Uber reviews which are a little too good compared to what I got. Ordered Palak Paneer and Aloo Gobi Masala, some veggie Samosa and Naan. The Paneer for my wife was okay. The Aloo Gobi Masala was just spicy even though I ordered it mild. Other than that it didn't have any real taste just like the samosa. The portions to us were enourmous which might explain why to us it was expensive.. 14-15$ for a veggie entree.. Maybe we're just used to different portions and prices back home in Germany but that wouldn't be a problem if it would actually taste good which it didn't. Simply filled the empty stomach which is why I endured the spice.. If I ever come back to Baltimore I will avoid this place.
The food is absolute garbage with no taste, We got lamb tikka masala and chicken biryani it tasted nothing like Indian the soup was sweet it was just a odd taste nothing I’m used to and I ate many many times at Indian restaurants they’re my favorite but this one was pretty bad. Nice people tho…replying to restaurant: we did not dine in we took a carry out. Thanks for your response.
Nice masala chai. We had chili chicken and a lamb curry, which were both good.
I ordered Boti Kabob and it said it’s Lamb grilled in the TandooriIt turn out to be a tuff pieces of beef sautéed with some spices ? that was really a cheap thing to doYou said you don’t have a beef on your menu that doesn’t eliminate that you have it in your kitchen and serve it as a Lamb. I did eat Indian cuisine around the world and I know what Indian food is like and how lamb meat tastes. In anyway your place is a cheap place and need some cleaning.
Best Indian food in Baltimore! Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken 10/10! Food was fresh, 15% off when you order online for pickup. We will be coming back for more!
Kumari is bomb! I go all the time. I have introduced many friends to this place. Their customer service is why I come to them (there are 2 other Indian restaurants near them). If you go, try the chai tea latte, while you wait for your food. I always order meat samosas for appetizer and lamb biryani for my meal! :) You can’t go wrong with that order I just gave you.
I wanted to meet an old friend for an early lunch and we had a hard time finding a good restaurant that opens early enough. Kumari seemed to work, but we realized that it was only open for take-out. I decided to pick up the food and meet my friend for lunch at his office. When I ordered the food, I was told that they would call me as soon as the food was ready. They never called, so I called back. My call was redirected to GrubHub by their automated system. The GrubHub representative proceeded to collect my data meticulously. He wasted a lot of my time before he told me that he has no information about my order and I should call the restaurant directly. I went inside the restaurant, where my order was ready for pick-up for some time. We ended up eating lunch much later than we wanted. I ordered the food (chicken tikka masala) with a special instruction (not too spicy). The food was not spicy at all, I guess I should have asked for medium spice.
Unfortunately, not a big fan. I ordered for delivery, and it did arrive fast. Super fast. Which was great. And it was piping hot. I tried both Chicken Vindaloo and Butter Chicken. Those two things usually are very similar no matter where you get them from. But these are definitely different than usual. The Butter Chicken is way more tomato based than Cream than usual. It's not bad, just different. The Vindaloo, despite requesting "Indian Hot" really wasn't all that spicy, but the flavor was OK. What really killed it for me was 3 pieces of chicken still having bones in it, and the meat not being very tender. And had a weird after-taste.Maybe it's just me, but certainly not my cup of tea.
I thought of giving them a try and ordered doordash such a disappointment. I’m a nepali myself and am familiar with all kinds of nepali food. Specially chicken choila that I grew up eating. I order the same, chicken choila. They sent me the dish swimming in vegetable oil the chicken were burnt black and was very cold as if they were just out from the freezer. I called the restaurant to let them know but the guy was making it look like there was nothing wrong with the dish and that’s how the dish is made. I’ve been eating the dish since I was a kid and I know exactly how they’re made and they should taste. I don’t expect the restaurant to make the exact same taste but then ruining the dish itself is a completely different story. I would love to make some real traditional nepali chicken choila for them just so they know how they’re supposed to taste and be served.
