My pictures are not the best but the food was great. We were struggling to find food Friday night and stumbled into this gem. We got take out and the service was great and our food was prepared very quickly. The kimchi that came on the side for my vegetable bibimbap was excellent. Wouldn't mind stopping in again sometime.
Literally the best Korean in the city, fight me if you think otherwise. Bibimbap is my goto favorite (pork). If you prefer a winged creature however, the fried chicken is absolutely to die for. The portions are generous for the fried chicken so best to share with two. Staff is always attentive and quick but for Korean fried chicken it will be a while ( its a process ), the anticipation makes it taste better trust me. Sides come with orders and are always excellent. The best part is that they are open super late, giving you options if you are a night owl like me !
Delicious Korean food! The only star loss is due to the restaurant being ice cold. Turn the heat up!
@kong.pocha is one of just a few of Korean restaurants located within Baltimore city, most of which are in a cluster all within close proximity of one another. In a shabby, and mostly uninviting space you’ll find tables spread sparsely due to the current state of affairs. It would appear in the front of house that at one time they would have served the Korean bbq I’m used to, marinated meats cooked on a hot plate or grill within the table, as part of the experience. Having expected this when ordering, I was a bit disappointed when the bulgogi and spicy pork belly were served already prepared. Not only that, but it was more of a stir fry dish as it was swimming in sauce with shredded cabbage and onion. While it was tasty, it was certainly not what was desired. At the price point it was even more underwhelming for its lack of amount of actual meat within the dish. Fortunately however, the fried chicken pictured saved the night. The whole chicken cut, perfectly fried and in a delicious soy garlic sauce that offered both sweet and savory flavorings, was exactly what I was craving. Something not to be eaten regularly as it’s pure indulgence, it’s a necessary treat now and then.
I liked their food and have been there several times. However, I ordered something from them on UberEats today and found a 2” metal chain with a sharp end next to the fried chicken. It was covered with sauce so I almost didn’t notice it until picking it up with chopsticks, which might cause life-threatening danger if I missed it. They must didn’t notice it and cook it with the fried chicken the whole time. Despite receiving whole refunds from UberEats, I still need an appropriate explanation and apology from the restaurant.
My friends and I love Kong’s fried chicken and seafood pancake! The side dishes are always so good, and there hours are late! Please don’t mind the area, and the outside of the restaurant because this is a true hidden gem of Korean fried chicken and culture! My go to is the butter fried chicken with sweet and spicy sauce on the side!
The food from this place is so insanely good it is hard to describe. 10/10. The way they do their lunch boxes is amazing, especiallytheir crisp chicken bits. And the amount of food you get is definitely enough for 2 meals. I love this place.
Really great food. The korean-style fried chicken is amazing and the portion size is huge. The atmosphere makes you feel like you're in Korea.
Excellent food, superb ambience! We got the Pajeon, the haemul sundubu, and the Korean fried chicken -- it was all fantastic! If you dropped me in this place, I probably would have said we were at a pocha in Korea. We will definitely be visiting again!
Amazing atmosphere, and the food was extremely tasty. The portions are huge and the prices are really good.
