When I say this place deserves a 6 out of 5 I mean it. The meatballs and brucheta were fantastically made. Infact i was upset when 2 tomatoes dropped off my plate as seen in the picture, that is how delicious it was. Further, there's just something about the owner of a restaurant having a face at the restaurant. The owner and his workers were just super friendly and very welcoming. Thank you for an awesome evening and we will definitely be back:-)
Joe Benny’s serves amazing meatballs and pizza. The meatball appetizer at this restaurant is amazing. It’s a blend of beef and pork and served with garlic bread, the garlic bread was out of this world good. They serve very unique and creative pizzas on a thick crust, both pizzas I ordered had incredible flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant if you like pizza or meatballs. The service was outstanding and the staff were extremely friendly.
I can not get enough of this place! Way to go! The food is always consistent and amazing. They treat my kids well to, some places look annoyed with kids, not this place.

We started off by being greeted by Joe Benny himself. Very welcome and energetic as he was preparing all of the meals personally.Definitely try the sloppy Joe meatballs and you can go wrong with anything else.Just need to be patient as each order is made fresh and comes out toasty and warm!The setting was also equally as good as it’s nestled in Baltimore’s little Italy district.
Absolutely satisfying dining experience at yet another one of Little Italy's premier establishments, Joe Benny's! Because the meatballs have gotten such rave reviews, I had to give them a try. Wow ... flavorful, filling, and full of love :-) Seriously, though, the texture and taste were nearly flawless, and the sauce was perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed the Sicilian Salad, particularly the julienne bell peppers, which complemented the dressing very well. If I had to survive on bread alone, I would want it to be Joe Benny's focaccia because it was as close to my grandmother's as I've tried yet. Mitch took care of me at the bar, and I will most definitely return on my next trip to Charm City!
Consistently my favorite spot in Baltimore. You have to realize it's a small restaurant run by a small team. Expect to be patient and arrive early if you want to get a spot right away. I always aim to be at the bar to watch Joe in action and interact with everyone. You'll want to go more than once to try them all.Must haves:Burrata app - Very refreshing and delicious appSloppy Rowe - Best balls on the block covered in cheese.Cheesy bread app - I get this when I'm not getting a pizza so I still feel like I'm getting a pieAll of the pizzas - Find your flavor and learn about the thick Sicilian style of focaccia pizza. Don't expect a little thin crust pizza.Finish it off with whatever Puffs they have available for dessert
Whatever this restaurant lacks in size, it makes up with outsized taste and charm! Remarkably, the dining room only has six tables. There are another four small tables outside. We came on a Saturday night around 7:30pm. We waited about 30 minutes for a table. There was a very limited menu because the restaurant was short-staffed. The high-top table we had was incredibly wobbly, but our waiter quickly fixed it. How this place gets by with only one toilet for customers, who knows? But it works!We’re giving this place five stars based on the quality of the food alone. We also got to meet Joe himself! He is a great guy.Get the meatballs with the cream sauce. You won’t be disappointed! Also, if you order the pizza, order it with extra cheese. You won’t be disappointed! This place has the best “thick deep dish style” pizza in Baltimore! (It’s really focaccia-style, but if you like deep dish pizza, you’ll love this place!) Also, Michael was a great server!
We felt lucky to get a table on a recent Friday night. I’ll begin with our server, she was very attentive and made our dining experience enjoyable. Of course, we had to try the meatball appetizer and Yes! They are the best “ Balls” you will eat hands down! perfect consistency and served with a copious amount of marinara and focaccia bites. Our party tried 3 different Sicilian style pizza’s that were also very ,very , good. Prepared with high quality ingredients and piping hot . Price point was fair. We look forward to a return visit in the future!
lucked into the last outdoor table just as the restaurant ran out of ...focaccia! Got the last sandwich and had a fabulous, delicious meal w a drink on the house. Joe B prepares all the bread daily and times/volumes are hard to predict - I get it. Salad was great, too. Fun drink menu. Would love to return.
Where do I even begin to describe the greatness of this place?! Visiting from San Antonio, Texas and decided to eat here having heard that the meatballs were amazing. We arrived a little early and waited for the place to open. Moments later the owner walked out to place a sidewalk sign and immediately welcomed us in with a genuine smile. We were then seated and had the most amazing and attentive server who was able to explain in details and recommend things to try. Sitting here, looking around at all the quaint decoration, hearing regulars come in and be greeted by name, warmly.There was an energy in the hustle and bustle and chit chat overhead was like being over with family. The food then came out and words cannot adequately describe or to do justice to how mind boggling delicious every single thing that was brought out was. The balls of course did not disappoint! The prices were extremely affordable and the portions were generous as we had to even take home a box of several yummy dishes to enjoy later. Before leaving, we asked to take a picture with owner and he even took the time to recommend other restaurants in the area. For sure, I've never been more pleasantly surprised at being treated so well and having absolutely nothing at all to complain about. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this amazing place. I will definitely be coming back again.
