The bagels sandwiches were greats, I really love it.. but my latte was not good..
Awful service. After ordering a simple sandwich, I waited for an hour. Still no sandwich. After asking about my order, the employees scrambled around trying to figure out where my order was. I don't think they even started making it. I eventually got it. After finally receiving my order I received no apology for the wait or anything. What a waste of time. The bagels are a little hard for my taste, too, but maybe I just don't know bagels. I'm aggravated and I won't be going back.
This place is widely acknowledged as producing the best bagels in Baltimore. The dough is high gluten, dense, and chewy. It has flavor. Lots of flavor. These are not the 'air bagels' that deflate when you bite them that other places serve. Beyond the bagels, they have a nice coffee bar, they serve lots of tasty food, everything is pareve.
We came here for breakfast 4 or 5 times while staying at the Doubletree nearby. The food is delicious, but our coffee was quite delayed almost every morning. I think they need a dedicated barista during the breakfast rush.
I have to say the quality and taste of my bagel was good. I have not eaten there in about a year or so since I haven't been back home in a while. Goldbergs has always been busy and a go to place when i go back into town. But the service and management team this time left a whole lot to be desired. I watched as a mother brought her young child's bagel to the manager with a huge chunk of avocado on it. The bagel was ordered as a just a plain bagel and cream cheese but the cook cut it with a knife that had something with avocado, nothing the family ordered had avocado by the way. The manager took the bagel in the back, wiped it off and returned it to the mom. REALLY?? The woman repeated her child will not eat this and wanted a new one. After walking around the store for 5 min with the bagel in her hand, the "manager" told her she could not have a new one and had to eat this one. I was appalled that this is now the new owners are treating their customers. If the mom thought wiping it off would work I would like to think she would have done so. i I will go back to buy a dozen bagels and take them home, they are good. But i will be thinking twice before I sit down and eat there again.
The new look is nice but I still don't understand why it takes 20 minutes to get a bagel with cream cheese. They also don't seem to understand what it means to toast it twice. Seems like lots of miscommunication. Past two times I was there, no one was available to make a coffee. I will give it some time but please take care of the kinks.
Great bagels and spreads. The new renovations look really good. The new Roasterstown Coffee is a full service coffee store similar to a Starbucks.
Grew up outside of NYC and these bagels taste just as good. Only problem is when my bf orders our bagels and brings them home they consistently give me plain cream cheese instead of vegetable cream cheese. He goes out of his way to get these amazing bagels and it's to far of a drive back just to get the right cream cheese. It should have been correct from the get go. Mistakes happen but when they happen consistently it becomes a problem.
Sometimes its easy to take for granted how lucky we are to have this amazing place in our backyard! Nothing beats getting some large fresh bagels before a weekend snow. Get some!
