Went with wife, daughter and 1!year old grandson. Reservation was incorrect..my fault, but maitre'd took care of it and was very gracious. Great service continued at table as they were accommodating for toddler and waitress was attentive (except for coffee) and friendly. Both wife and daughter said meal, ambiance etc was best we had on a five day trip to Baltimore; wife loved hummus plate, daughter flan cake and myself...the peach upside down with a little ice cream! Kudos to staff and chef at Gertrude's...a wonderful way to culminate a trip to the Baltimore Museum of Art.
Excellent food, superb service, lively setting. A bit overpriced. But I would definitely return!
First time visit. Found on museum website. Fantastic food and superb service! Really enjoyed the crab and shrimp special and the chocolate flan cake! Lovely decor and relaxing ambience. Wish I lived nearby as it would be a frequent spot to dine for me!
The food and sides were delicious and creative. Service was friendly but slow, and the outdoor setting is lovely.
Delicious food and fabulous service in a beautiful setting. Highly recommended.
The special sandwich - salmon and trout grilled cheese - was delicious. The soup du jour - chickpea and cilantro - was also very tasty.
Eating at Gertrudeâs was a total delight. All museums should have such a wonderful place to have a fine dining experience. Loved it!
Delicious, scrumptious, elegant, outstanding. Gertrude's is always a treat! The food is prepared with excellent ingredients and knowledgeable hands, with a southern/Maryland local bent. Do not miss the desserts!
There were three of us. Two of us were very satisfied. The the third person very much enjoyed Ms Jean's red crab soup, but the shrimp salad sandwich was a disappointment. The shrimp were small and the plate seemed dominated with potato chips. As a side note, my hummus plate was as good as always but my request for extra pita (always happy to pay extra for this without hesitation) went unfulfilled this time. And the third in our party was very happy with her caesar salad with salmon. Her Taharka chocolate ice cream was also the clear dessert winner.
Everything about brunch or lunch at Gertrude's is just right -- excellent menu, friendly/efficient service, and pleasing atmosphere. I don't know if it's just at brunch or throughout the day, but the quiet/appropriate/jazzy music we've enjoyed the times we've there is perfect. And . . . the noise level is somewhere between Quiet and Moderate -- just perfect to be able to have a conversation; I appreciate that.
