Small, intimate unconventional sushi spot. I was taken aback at how small it was. It's literally on the corner of Harford Rd and Southern Ave. The waitress was kind. The sweet potato ice cream (is purple in color) was really good! The sushi was decent, but, high in price. 3 rolls for $15+?! Sheesh!! I ordered a jack and coke, which was mixed to perfection. Me and my date also had rice and soup. I would recommend. The vibe was cool.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, exceptional service and quaint seating!
I am IN LOVE with the new Fire & Rice! I anxiously awaited the grand reopening, and it has not disappointed. Every time I visit, I am blown away. The sake is very well curated, and Alex has done an amazing job making the sake menu approachable, even for someone who's never tried sake before. You've got to try their sake flights! If sake isn't your thing, no problem! They have an impressive wine list, and their cocktail program is incredible. They even have non-alcoholic cocktails which are super delicious. Now let's talk about the food! Chef Kelsey blows me away every time I eat at Fire & Rice. My fiance and I find ourselves doing little happy dances under the table, and there's a lot of exclamations like, "Oh my god!" The cauliflower wings are some of the best I've ever had, and the pork belly melts in your mouth! SO GOOD!
Great food, great drinks , great staff. Will be back again and again and again!
I had the pub burger. Very good, beefy with all the tastes of Asian fusion. Would eat here again. Friendly and cozy.
Made a reservation, we were seated at a high top in the bar area with pretty uncomfortable stools. We were there to sample the vegan week specials. The chirashi bowl was OK, lots of color and different textures, could have used a protein. My husband got a couple of the “hand sushi’s”. These were pretty to look at but there wasn’t much to them and seemed like they just didn’t want to make a proper sushi roll. Best thing we got was the fried cauliflower which was delicious.
Fire & Rice is a cozy, welcoming, neighborhood spot! They have an eclectic and creative menu that is sure to please vegans, sushi lovers, and meat eaters. We usually stick to the plant based options and have been impressed with the vegan 'tuna', oyster mushroom and beet handhelds, as well as the jackfruit bahn mi, and we love the vegan chirashi. Knowing the owner, chef, and server on a first name basis also makes us love this place. It feels like we're catching up with friends. They're also teaching us about sake which is super cool. Definitely recommend checking out Fire & Rice for the food and atmosphere.
What a lovely, cozy place to eat! I ordered spicy noodles with tofu, they were so satisfying. And the ginger shrimp were a perfect appetizer. The staff are friendly and attentive. The cocktails were great too!
Welcome back Fire & Rice. We've been waiting for you and the fantastic foods you serve.Last night I had the best braised short ribs I've ever eaten. The meat was tender, succulent and seasoned to perfection. Placed on top of white rice with purple cabbage, peppers, scallion and love you want to gobble it all up in one bite and go for more. Which I will tonight.
Excellent place for a quick bite to eat! The staff is warm and friendly. Beautiful venue! Chef Kelsey makes the most delicious ice cream desert using sweet potatoes!
