I absolutely love the place and atmosphere upstairs in the wine bar. However, the music choice is not good at all and according to the bartender songs can not be requested nor the playlist modified. Im not sure what goes into their selection, but the music is so off putting, that it actually stops conversation in the same way a popular song would. If its for a relaxed vibe, it misses the mark completely. I have a playlist that would be perfect for that spot. Aside from that, it is a true beautiful gem.

Love this spot off of Charles Street in Baltimore. The staff is helpful and keen on there wines. They will help you with a little sample if you are not familiar with a specific one. They have a great patio space also. I recommend that you check this spot out.
Poor service - and they charge you a mandatory 20% gratuity for it. Used to be a tip was something optional for good service. I have been here twice and service was poor or non-existent both times. Most recently, I told the server I did not feel comfortable paying a 20% for the service received. He walked away from me and told me it was mandatory. Unfortunately, this is what happens with mandatory gratuity: service declines. Here’s a tip: pay your workers a living wage and include it in the price. Otherwise this is just a hidden fee.

Truly love & respect that 20% gratuity is automatically added; employees pool tips and deserve to be respected for their contributions. This should be the norm until we admit that we would prefer gratuity be added to the cost of food and drink so we don't have to think about whether or not the people who provide services for us are being effectively compensated. Also you don't need to "close out the tab" -- you can just get your bev and the transaction is complete. On certain Sunday nights the real heads spin tunes.
Interesting place. You enter a courtyard with little direction, with no hostess or servers. Not a bad thing, just a different vibe. Eclectic wine, great beers, fantastic atmosphere. Could have more options for wine by the glass, but menu frequently changes. Come with a group to get the best experience.

This atmosphere at Fadensonnen is fantastic and makes it worth the trip by itself! Came to the outdoor patio for a friend’s birthday, such a relaxed and fun environment. Picnic table seating made it a great place for a group. Outdoor bar so it’s quick to get drinks. Inside area was quiet and intimate and could have made for a nice date night. Can’t wait to come back!
