I wonder where the good reviews come from. Gumbo was bland. Absolutely zero flavor. Super wobbly table. Waitress was absolutely clueless. We asked for another drink for me and then she comes back like nothing happened and asks if I want another one… my husband ordered a steak and had to ask for a steak knife because he was left with a butter knife instead. Oh and the cream of crab was bland also. Tasted like a cream instead . No flavor. Save your money and go elsewhere.
? This place actually got it right from the Smokey Watermelon Margaritas to the Crab dip and along with everything we ordered. We had no complaints whatsoever. The staff were friendly. This a place you have to try. Thanks gain for helping my mothers Birthday a celebration.
The gumbo was rich and complex and the shrimp were tender and juicy not rubbery like you often get in gumbo. The ribs were perfect as well. Even the dressing on the sunshine salad was different and savory. The atmosphere was so welcoming and the outdoor seating has strings of lights which I love. Highly recommend this place.
I used to live a mile away from this restaurant and always wanted to try it because I like Creole food. My husband, however, was a picky eater so this wasn’t on OUR food agenda. Sadly, my husband passed away and I left the area, so it wasn’t until last night that I finally got to try it. I’ll start by saying my food—rockfish—was superb. And my stuffed pepper appetizer was as well. What earned this ranking, however, was the service of, who I later found out, was the owner. Apparently they were short-staffed and he was filling in as bartender. I sat at the bar (as I usually do in restaurants), so I could see him making my drink (I originally asked for Sangria but was told they’d been out of it since Wednesday and this was Friday). So I ordered what the server told me was a NOLA equivalent to a Bloody Mary. As I watched the owner maker my drink, I asked if he was making my drink. No particular reason, just curious. He nodded. “It’s the worst drink we make here,” he said. Oh. I asked why. “I don’t drink, so I can’t tell you,” was his reply. Confused? So was I. Then I asked what the most popular drink was. “I’m not the bartender, so I don’t know,” I’m told. At that point I quit asking questions and drank my cocktail, knowing before I started that I wasn’t going to enjoy it. Then comes my appetizer. Yummy. Remember—I’m sitting at the bar straight across from the manager serving as bartender that night. As I’m enjoying my appetizer, out he comes with my entree. There’s hardly any room on the counter because I’m only halfway through my appetizer. So I rush to finish my app so that I can move onto my rockfish that is sitting in front of me looking delicious and steaming hot. I dig into the rockfish and find that I just can’t enjoy it because I hurried through my app to get to the entree. So I ask for a to-go box and got the h***out of there! I’m a big fan of jambalaya, so I think I’ll go back and try it since the reviews on here are so great, but I’ll definitely order takeout!
Great customer service, delish food and reasonable prices. Place was a little small and drinks were okay. Will return again!
Service is always amazing. Food quality since the very first time I went has changed slightly. Seems somewhat less flavorful. It's a great small very intimate setting. Overall, I love this place and will continue to visit.
Love the fact the menu isn't overdone and just enough items available. Had the baby back ribs which were cooked to perfection. And the crab dip has got to be the best around, filled with large lumps of crab and a light cream sauce (not all goopy and crab-less with only old bay as seasoning). Very pleased with the meal.
Excellent service from an amazingly friendly staff. The menu is small but everything on it is great. The crab dip was exceptional, i liked that it wasn't covered on old bay like most places serve it. Don't skip the cornbread!
Really tasty food. Great portions! Great chef and lovely staff. Nice and clean atmosphere and cool music :)
Great food & friendly service. I ordered the Nola chicken and my husband got rockfish. Both dishes were presented nicely and delicious. The place was busy when we arrived, yet you wouldn't have known. We sat outside at first under the heater (which was nice) and the owner personally offered us seating inside as soon as it opened up. The service was great and all dishes arrived at our table in a reasonable time.
