I found Chuck's Trading Post via a google search of breakfast in the area, that i was going to be in. As I entered the place, I though "oh this is going to be one of those hipster Places Where they only serve Avacado Toast and Kambucha" (Not my thing at all) The decor was quirky and interesting. We were warmly greeted at the door and offered a table. A personable young lady came over with menus and asked if we wanted a drink. I had a very good Bloody Mary. The menu was impressive for a small place with an open cooking area. I settled on Steak and Eggs. Not an easy choice with such a good menu, but they had me at Chimichurri . It came out quick. Both the Steak and eggs were cooked exactly how I asked. The meal was beautifully presented This was the best breakfast I have had in a long time. Everything was well seasoned and delicious. The entire staff was friendly. 10 out of 10 I will be back!
Portions, Prices, and Charm! Chuck’s lived up to the recommendations. Everything tasted great — skillets, French toast & sandwiches! (The s*** on a Shingle is no longer available, btw.) Mimosa pitcher, Bloody Mary and coffee were also a great value. Only regret is we didn’t try more of the food and drink menu.
This place has incredible atmosphere! But I do not recommend going on the weekend or 1.5 hours or less before closing. We got on the waitlist at 1:30pm. They close at 3pm. It took 45 minutes to be seated. Our companions ordered tea and yogurt. The tea never came. The food came an hour later and my pancake was burnt black on one side. Our poor waiter was so harried he didn't even notice I'd pushed it to the edge of the table and turned the burnt side up til we shouted at him. Aside from that, I think it's worth giving another chance in a weekday.
Cool place with decent burger and fries. Wednesday night is burger night and the rest of the menu is not available. Good selection of interesting burgers. But mine was a little over done.
Really nice brunch spot. They have seating inside and outside. They also have a great selection of breakfast foods along with brunch foods. Service is very fast and they are very nice. Overall just a great experience. I really appreciated how they have two bar areas where you can order a drink while you wait for a table. This is a popular spot so expect to wait a bit for a table to become available.
First of all, I absolutely love this place for brunch! This review in particular is for a catering order. Catering menu is readily available online. Tracey was super responsive and the restaurant was able to provide us with a last minute breakfast for 15 (requested just shy of 48 hrs in advance) Everything was ready to go right on time for my pick-up, they even loaded it into my car. Food was awesome, especially the french toast! This says a lot considering that it had to travel 20 mins on a cold morning, plus time for my set-up. The fresh fruit included in the breakfast package was perfectly ripe and sweet. Our office staff loved everything and I look forward to using Chuck's for future catering needs.
We got there right as they were closing, but they took our to-go order. It was so good, we ended up just eating in the car. We return!
Brunch here was very enjoyable. The service was fast and all the staff I interacted with were very pleasant. My wife had a skillet meal and I had the frenchie(I think thats close, it was their French toast). Both were very tasty. I also had an orange crush which was great. If my visit is any indication of their standard practice I doubt any of their food would be anything but fantastic.
What a great, local neighborhood find! When you first walk in, it looks exactly as you would expect by its name...an old, rustic saloon/cafe/general store. You are immediately hit with the delicious aromas coming from the grill behind the counter and the good nature of the staff working there. Everybody was friendly and accommodating and the food was simply delicious. We shared the shrimp and grits, which could hold its own against any in North and South Carolina that we've tried, and the Spaniard skillet meal with their housemade chorizo was so tasty. We will definitely return soon.
