I’m really upset about how dismissive they treated me today when I set them an inquiry on a cake for my daughters first birthday. They told me we’re unable to provide a cake between Aug 10-16 even though their online cake order does not have those date blocked.I have gotten cakes there in the past for my son’s birthdays and was hoping to do the same for my daughter that will be turning 1 years old. They sent me screenshots of a cake inquiry that they claimed they replied to my email but it did not show my email or even the same subject line to my cake request that I have sent. When I asked them to confirm the email that they sent it to it was also the wrong email and since then they have not responded back to me or even apologized. They basically told me good luck on finding someone else for my daughter’s cake because I didn’t respond to the email that they never sent to me.
Tried four of the cake-in-a-jars. They were good but you need to leave them sit out for a while because they are hard as hell just sitting in fridge temperatures. Tops were really crumbly and made a hell of a mess. Flavors were good though. Little pricy but we expected that.
Charm City Cakes did an amazing job on my daughters Sweet Sixteen cake. The cake was also very moist and delicious
Bought cupcakes for my daughter’s baby shower/going away party. Been excited about these cupcakes since I ordered. Colors were perfect, they looked beautiful but that’s about where the excitement ended. The icing had no flavor to them and tasted like a stick of butter(even though half were strawberry shortcake). The cake part tasted better and was edible but overall just not what we expected at all. It was a real bummer because my daughter usually gets paid for the things she bakes and so did 3 other guests at the party. Since this was a surprise party I could not ask my daughter to bake and didn’t have the contact info to have her friends bake. I ordered from here because we have watched Duff and figured that’s the best of the best. Big disappointment. I have never left a review on anything until today as I don’t want anyone else to overspend and be dissatisfied. For 2 dozen cupcakes at $79 I expected more.I did appreciate the great customer service though!
Very clean! My daughter did a cup cake class and it went great. The instructors did a wonderful job and I would highly recommend.
Better late than never review. The place was nice and the kitchen was teaching people to make a great treat. Nice drive up to B.More to see Duff’s start out spot. (20May.2017)The ladies were nice and welcoming. I just went to visit not buy anything.
Disappointing! Charm City Cakes was NOT charming. We bought cupcakes. Each cupcake was extremely dry and crumbly. The icing was not sweet, it was greasy and slick like shortening. Completely flavorless, nasty and inedible! The location itself is underwhelming. Definitely not what you'd expect from a Food Network Star's bakery. Does Duff even own this place? Everything was just so disappointing. All of it. We drove 4 hours to get these for my birthday weekend. Save your time and your money for someplace else. We couldn't eat any of these cupcakes, they really are that awful.
The desserts are delicious. The staff was very courteous, friendly, and helpful. The facility is beautifully decorated, welcoming, and very clean.
Fans of art of fondant can find exactly the design of cake you’re looking for if money isn’t an option. Cake classes offer a fun way to spend an 1.5 hours of free time also. Cakes are layered with heavy fondant which makes for great decorations but lack the traditional taste. Try either the traditional style or fondant to see what’s right for you.
Beautifully done, and people said they tasted great!
