Ribs and pulled pork were decent—everything else was pretty mediocre and overpriced. Wouldn’t recommend eating here if you come from a traditional BBQ state—you will leave disappointed. The servers were friendly but system for ordering/paying was overly difficult. Probably won’t be back
The food was pretty good. The collard greens was surprisingly flavorful and juicy. The coffee dry rub on the ribs was a nice touch and paired well with fresh local draft beer on tap. The beans were a bit bland byt full of brisket. The service was great and has a nice vibe for BBQ,Brews, and Sports
We picked up lunch at Blue Pit and could hardly wait to get home and set the food out on the counter, buffet style for everyone. The well seasoned dry rub ribs were amazing and almost fell off the bone. The mix of sides was a joy in itself, each one unique and delicious. The 4 cheese Mac was baked perfectly. Two types of Slaw gave variety - the red chili mayo Slaw had just the right heat, this contrasted nicely with the Chesapeake pickleback Slaw with a vinegar base. The loaded potato salad was heavenly, and the baked beans could have been a meal in themselves. Finally the collard greens were balanced with pork neck and sherry vinegar. Next we need to find time to dine in and try cocktails from their interesting list of signature drinks.
FANTASTIC food. Some of the best BBQ I've eaten in a long time. Had the pulled pork, and didn't even need to use any BBQ sauce it was so good. Baked beans were fantastic, and I loved their pickleback slaw. Everyone was really friendly, and their outside patio is great -- just wish more dogs were hanging out!
Customer service 100% Brisket and collard greens amazing ! My husband and I walked into the establishment and we were greeted with smiles and a wonderful atmosphere. I had some questions about the coffee rubbed brisket and he assured me that the brisket would be tender and juicy and would not taste like a cappuccino lol. The collard greens were seasoned to perfection not to salty just right ! The brisket was AMAZING ! It needed no additional sauces or anything added to it, just eat it like it is, of course we tried the barbecue sauce and that was delicious as well. Please pay this establishment a visit, you won't be disappointed.
A great visit to the BBQ pit yesterday resulted in good company and good food. I took recommendations and took home the brisket, Mac cheese, homemade potato salad, pickles and loaded baked potato and sauces. They had mustard, coffee, hot and spicy or sweet bbq sauces. Favorite sauce was the sweet sauce. I also added a vegan jackfruit sandwich. All were great. The great fare, ambiance, decor, nooks and central location, all added to make for a wonderful evening. Will do that again.
BBQ is not the best I've had but it's always consistent and good and the prices are really good. Cocktails are also surprisingly good for a place you don't assume to be a cocktail bar. I would shoot for the sausage and chicken here. Brisket is a little dry usually. Staff is friendly. It's a great addition to the neighborhood.
We were in the neighborhood and looking for Baltimore's best BBQ so we gave Blue Pit a try. In short, it's a good neighborhood spot.We ordered the brisket sandwich and pulled pork sandwich plus some sides. I forgot to ordrer cole slaw and the brisket sandwich really could have used some crunch. Brisket baked beans were the highlight of what we ordered. Mac and cheese didn't disappoint either.
The thicker cut fall-apart dry brisket is good enough to eat without sauce. And there's plenty of good sauce. And with the beans and brisket, and they're not playing games with this hardy mac&cheese, you'll not leave hungry and, this is a whiskey bar! Their whiskey bar selections superior, not just the several pappy van winkles but the several pinhooks and full array of good whistlepigs, and that's just at-a-glance of the whiskey selections. Whiskey bar prices. Good, attentive service.
Absolutely delicious. I’ve tried mostly the entire menu. My favorites are the pulled pork, ribs, greens and bbq beans. My only complaint is the cornbread. It lacks taste and texture. This place has it all over Mission BBQ. I use Grubhub and it is always delivered on time and hot. I’m always very satisfied with my order.
