The restaurant is in the lovely neighborhood of Homewood; it is not well marked, but once you find it you will enjoy the beautiful architecture of the building. We were taken right to our table on the patio. The weather was perfect for dining outside. They have open air seating and seating that is covered but open to enjoy air and the feeling of being outside. Our service was attentive but not overbearing. The appetizers came out very quickly. We waited some time for main courses, but we were happy to relax and enjoy a bottle of wine and some incredible naan in the meantime. The naan was served piping hot and was perfectly cooked. We ordered garlic naan and rosemary naan, which was my favorite! Our meals were delicious, there were six of us so we were able to sample a variety of items from tue menu. Each dish I tried was better than the previous; an endless spread of goodness. The kitchen prepared each meal according to our preferred level of heat. The most popular at our table was the Paneer Tikka Masala, each of soaking up that sauce with our naan. We celebrated a birthday and the staff brought out a lovely special dessert for our birthday girl. It was such a lovely night out with friends and family, I would highly recommend for anyone looking to enjoy some excellent Indian cuisine in a perfectly relaxed yet fine dining experience. We will be back.
Great service and good
The Ambassador never disappoints, and our recent visit was better than ever, as we were seated outside on their lovely patio on a pleasant June Saturday night. The food was as tasty as ever; the rosemary naan (a special) was a nice compliment to our meal. The service was friendly, well-timed and intuitive but not overly attentive. Overall a delightful evening!
The food was not good at all, the service was so poor. They just dropped the food in front of me. We paid almost $400 for 6 people and I regret every penny of that.
We have been to the ambassador before and loved it. This is why my husband chose ito go there for his birthday. The food was outstanding, as usual. Our table was outside overlooking the gardens. The view was peaceful, serene and beautiful. The two people who waited on us were attentive, friendly and excellent. They brought my husband a dessert for his birthday and to top it off, gave him a gift card towards another visit. They went above and beyond. Absolutely wonderful restaurant.
I was entertaining out-of -town guests and wanted someplace with good food and a fine dining experience, but not overly pricey. We were not disappointed.
Slow service some food mediocre
The food was not particularly flavorful, the portions tiny and the prices excessive. I was not impressed.
The food was mediocre. Years ago it had been really good. Ambience used to be extraordinary. If the apartment building didn’t maintain a garden it would have been bare. Not a potted plant. Very disappointing. Service was good, but it didn’t make up for the food and surroundings.
