Service was great. Food was beyond stellar! Saw Jordan Rudess perform next door. He was amazing! Very intimate venue. Great atmosphere!
This was my favorite place in Annapolis. The beers were delicious and so was the food. If I'm in Annapolis again this will definitely be a stop!
Service was attentive and good was mostly fine. Steak was nicely seared, juicy, and well seasoned. Salad was well assembled, with crispy greens, fresh toppings, and good proportions of ingredients. Crab was the sad, dry, jumbo lump with nondescript flavor usually found in south Asian pasteurized crab imports rather than the sweet blue crab common here, succulent Dungeness often substituted, or other even the cheap but flavorful Jonah, used in both the crab dip and cake. Even surimi would have been an improvement. They should 86 the crab items if they can't source ingredients worth using.
Our server was very rude. Disappointing. Don’t remember her name. Probably a college aged kid. Tall-ish, thin, shoulder length layered blonde hair. She’d actually be really pretty if she wasn’t so unpleasant. From the start, she wasn’t very friendly, but we thought, poor girl probably is just having a bad night. Stay positive, maybe she’ll come around. When we came in, we ordered our drinks. She left the drinks, and said, the kitchen is closing so you have to order fast. We said, no problem. Ordered a burger and salad. When it came out, the usual question is - is there anything else. She didn’t ask. That’s fine. So I asked, may I have an extra side of ranch for my salad. She was like, well, I just saw them going to put everything away. So probably not. So I said, would you mind trying. And if it’s been been put away, no worries. She gives this disgusted look, storms off - pouting and very visibly shaking her head, and when she comes back- without making eye contact - she slams the dressing on the table and storms off again. My husband and I just looked at each other, sort of stunned. What a bratty little girl! I will say, her entire mini-tantrum to the delivery of the side of ranch took about 15 seconds - which says something about her speed of service (when anger is a motive), and that the blessed side of ranch was still, in fact, readily available. We’ve never seen anything like that. How bizarre.
Order drink, never heard back from waitress again. After 15 minutes asked another waitress for check. Never asked if I wanted another drink. Nothing. Sorry I borther you. Definitely won't happen again. Was reading other reviews either great or horrible. Hmmm!
Went in this past Friday and I’ve never witnessed a more disgusting display of ‘service’ in my life. The bartender (couldn’t have been any older than 25) in the downstairs pub was extremely rude- there was one person in a large group had a vertical drivers license (unexpired and they are almost 22 years old- I talked to them outside) and they touched, not drank, touched a glass of wine. The bartender practically sprinted over to their table and slammed the tab down in front of these three small ladies, and says very rudely “you’re all done, get out!”. I had been sitting near these women since they came in and not one of them were in any way overly intoxicated or being rude. I can understand asking the one young woman to leave if the vertical driver’s license is such a big deal (which I’ve never seen it be at any other bar in the state of Maryland). What I can’t understand is being so disgustingly rude to all three of these women who were simply minding their own business. As the women were leaving, another patron said to him that there was no need to be rude and be an a**hole and he proceeded to threaten to call the police on him- so clearly this guy can dish it out but can’t take it. Considering he spent most of the time I was in there holding hands with the girls at the bar I’m assuming he just wanted to get people out of there so he wouldn’t have to do his job. I highly doubt that I will be returning to this bar, and I definitely won’t be recommending it to any friends in the Annapolis area.
We ate lunch here on a recent midweek trip to Annapolis. We sat outside which was lovely. The servers were kind, helpful and attentive. Food was delicious and came quickly. Highly recommend.
I don't give everyone five stars... but tonight you guys deserve it. Came w/ a party of 5 to see Dave Tieff/Laughing Colors acoustic show at Rams Head Onstage/next door and had dinner here before the show. I ordered a plain Reuben on a burger bun w/ cheddar cheese and fries and they knocked it out of the park. My friend had the pulled pork sandwich and you couldn't get him to talk because he didn't want to stop eating it. His son had the fish and chips and said they were as good as another place we frequent that has amazing fish and chips, so that about sums up his dinner. My wife had the Shepard's pie, which I tried and really liked, but was lacking a little on taste/flavor? So 8/10 for the Shepard's pie... I will ask for extra gravy if I come back and order it for myself. Our other friend ordered the taco chicken salad and that was also a walk-off home run. Our server was prompt, checked on us periodically and the kitchen brought our food out in a surprisingly short amount of time, too, for a packed Saturday night. Bonus for the Tavern - we ran into some friends on the way into the venue part of the building and asked them how their dinner was and all four said "fantastic". Can't beat that advertising. One suggestion - If you're going to see a show and want to eat at the tavern, use the app to make a reservation a few DAYS in advance or you'll have to try your luck at Stan and Joe's or find somewhere else to eat: They had to turn people away at the door who didn't have reservations. Thanks guys for a fun evening!
Nice selection of dishes. I chose the Bison Meatloaf in a tasty brown gravy. If a person has tickets for a concert next door make you make a reservation so that you get a 10% discount on your meal. I had read about the discount but never saw you need to make the reservation so they wouldn't give it to me. Oh well.
This place was so cute! We came during happy hour with no reservation. We were seated immediately outside where they had live music set up. We enjoyed some of the most flavorful food I’ve had at a restaurant in a long while! And because happy hour, our bill was very affordable for the two of us!
