Boyfriend and I decided to go to this spot for lunch while visiting Annapolis, MD. The lunch menu was a bit disappointing fromA seafood perspective. It’s a tarvern so it’s tarvern quality food in my opinion. The brisket sandwich was good and messy. The service was bad because they did not space the courses out. Felt rushed when no one was inside. Seafood Salad- way too much dressing. Get it on the side if possible. Bathroom- it’s a workout to get into it. Disappointed overall. I would not recommend this place.

Great spot for drinks with a ton of history!A must stop when in town, but i would recommend drinks that are beer, on the rocks, or bottled… probably better spots for mixed cocktails.

Had lunch with my wife and her service dog and a small bag that contained candy from a nearby store. The Young lady bartender was extremely friendly, food was good service was great. Everything was fine. Liked the place so we went back at 1000pm the same day for drinks. Same service animal, same bag of candy from a nearby store only to be turned away. The man at the door was very clear. “Sorry, no dogs”. We identified the dog as a service dog. His comment was “ Technically I don’t have to let you in”. Than he saw the bag containing candy and said. “You can’t bring food in”. I’ll let the bag of candy issues slide but the service dog comment was wrong. First understand the rules with service animals but more importantly. be consistent with your own business! what I did in the afternoon was not allowed at night .

First trip to Annapolis in December we found this place. We are here everyday we were here. The place is full of history. It has a great happy hour. The food is good, the place is clean, and the staff is friendly.Just came back to Annapolis and we have already been here twice. I've had the oyster shooters, crab tater tots, and steamed mussels. My son has had the old bay wings and the buffalo wings. Everything has been delicious. We will be back again before we leave. If you are in the area you must stop here!

Aw man, this place is cool. The interior is beautiful. Only stopped in for a few drinks, but will definitely be back since I don't live too far away. I believe the story goes that this is the oldest continuously operating bar in Maryland and third oldest in the country (opened in 1750). Walking in is a bit like stepping back in time. Imagine the folks that popped in during the fight for our independence and birth of our country. Truly amazing. That aside, they have a piano bar upstairs, and a big beautiful bar downstairs with a decent draft beer selection and far more in cans/bottles. Our bartender was lovely - though I forgot her name as I tend to do. Definitely recommend stopping in! I'll be back to check out the piano bar - which wasn't open when we visited.

Pay your staff more. Don't ask for donations on your website. Then when we get there our waitress has her electronic tip set on a minimum of 40%. We paid over $60 for drinks and oysters and were forgotten about by said waitress. This was a stop over while we were waiting for our table at another restaurant. Loved the dogs sitting at the table next to us too. Wondering why they weren't seated outside or asked to sit on the ground.

After our sunset sail on the Schooner Woodwind, we headed to Middleton Tavern for a late dinner. We sat outside and enjoyed the sights and sounds of Annapolis. The food and drinks were great.

Sitting here in the breezes on their deck having a Middleton's Mule and crab cakes. Awesome food and great service. Kim (my server) was outstanding. Great suggestions. I come here everytime I'm visiting Annapolis. The history of this place makes it a "must see".

The food was great, the oysters were perfect and our salads were really good. The service was a little slow but everything was crazy due to the perfect weather so I think they were a little busier than usual for this time of year. We would definitely go back.

Visited Annapolis to see friends. Very busy crowded Downtown Annapolis on April Saturday, but we got seated immediately at Middleton Tavern. Wonderful tavern atmosphere, place loaded with history. Welcoming & attentive server. Fabulous true Maryland crab cakes & the guys enjoyed their brisket sandwiches. When visiting this busy resident & tourist town, try to get to the Middleton Tavern.
