Went after church on Sunday. It was not overly busy. but many servers were overworked, with tables inside and outside. It may be too much to ask for them to give good service waiting on so many tables. No question it's a labor shortage issue. My meal came out missing three major ingredients, but the waitress was not available to come back to the table, so we got the help from bus servers. It's hard to give good marks or have a good meal when the service quality is so compromised.
The wife and I had the beef bourguignon special and our granddaughter had chicken tenders, mac and cheese and garden salad. The mac was good, the salad was decent, the tenders were cold and the beef bourguignon was barely edible. The meat was tough and stringy and the sauce was tasted burnt. I've had good luck generally at the cafe so this experience was unexpected.

One of the best places to eat around here! My family goes here all of the time, and when my extended family comes, even they ask to go out here. The servers are amazing and so friendly. Our server was Jessie and she was the best waiter we have ever had. She had so much energy and actually knew about the food instead of reading a bad description. The desserts you see right as you walk in are are good as they look. The crab dip is some of Maryland's finest, and the main courses are delicious. Highly recommended for everyone, no matter who you are.
Very good lunch and dinner fare. Busy and often noisy. Standouts are the mushroom soup. Specials are worth sampling. Everything coming from the kitchen shows attention to detail.

We have eaten lunch twice at this lovely restaurant. Their ingredients are fresh. Their menu items are varied with so many good choices. I had the shrimp and avocado citrus bowl. It was light and the shrimp were cooked perfectly. We had the birthday cake and the chocolate mousse pie for dessert, so good. I recently ordered two cakes at the last minute, ordered on a Saturday for pick up on a Tuesday. The red velvet cake and the Italian cream cake were moist and flavorful. We will definitely be returning to enjoy another lovely meal as well as to use their catering services. Great business all the way around. Every employee we encountered was helpful and professional. Went to Main & Market for the first time and was so blown away by the hospitality of this place - from the manager, to our waitress, to the young man cleaning and bussing our table. I never leave reviews, but I couldn’t not leave a review after having such an awesome, welcoming experience there. Plus, the food and desserts were absolutely exceptional!Thank you Main & Market for welcoming us and turning on all the outdoor heaters so we could eat outside in the tent…despite it being 35 degrees :)
