I have been going to Joy Luck for years!....with the new management the food is horrible....I always order the hunan chicken extra spicy with light sauce. The food was not spicy and had barely any sauce! I had to call and drive over and get more sauce so I can recook my food. I shouldn't have to cook food that I already paid for to be cooked! I won''t be returning...I gave it two chances.....
I'm incredibly sad to say, I've been here many times, and the food was amazing, and each time I said I aught tolerance a good review. The last two or three times have been.... so sad. What happened?! It takes longer to recieve food that is a shadow of what it once was. Gone are the days of the shrimp egg foo young dinner special. Gone are the enormous succulent crispy wings, dripping with juice and without compare, replaced with drums and flats, covered in tasteless breading. The old wings were better out of the fridge as leftovers than the new ones were fresh. Also the crab rangoon have become strangely sweet, a friend suggests some sort of pineapple? Which he's allergic to.I see from other reviews that the business has changed hands. Hopefully these are just growing pains.
Buyer beware this restaurant has changed its owner and management. Ever since then the food is disgusting. I have food allergy’s too eggs and some other foods. The food used to be made in a cleaner manner. Now the Lo mein and rice now have mayonnaise in it this soups are horrible. I spent about 70 dollars in food for 5 friends and my girlfriend. Me and two out of my five guests were sick after eating this food. It’s bad because there really is no good Chinese food in Annapolis and I relied on the previous management because they had decent food. This place is now extremely nasty. Full of greasy nastiness and I would not and do not recommend this place at all as of now.
No Joy, less luck. Have eaten from here probably too many times, that being said, last weeks food was terrible! Not just meh, terrible. Gen tso, dry, chicken discernable from breading and zero flavor. See a theme building here? New owners need old cooks back, cause I won't be....
The food here used to be really good up until new owners took over in January 2022. Jimmy, the previous owner who was friendly and made amazing food, is nowhere to be found. The new folks who run this place were very standoffish when I asked about Jimmy and said they didn't know who I was talking about when I asked about him and if the same cooks were making the food. The menu has a lot less of my favorites - shrimp toast and barbecued pork are off the menu. Sadly, their current offerings are not good. Their Kung Pao chicken and chicken with mixed vegetables lacked any sort of flavor and their egg rolls tasted like something you'd get out of the freezer section from the grocery store instead of homemade. I would suggest to avoid this place until they get their act together.
Today is the day that cuisine died. For the past 2 years I have had many ups and downs within my life. The pandemic, a Failed Marriage, Betty White's passing to name a few. Throughout this time their has only been one constant in my life. One recurring experience that would indubitably fill my stomach and I with immense pleasure and happiness. That Light in the World of Darkness was ordering Kung Pao Chicken (w Extra Pao) from Joy Luck 2.I'm unsure what happened. What changed? Did I do enough? Should I have communicated more often? Could I have been more affectionate? Was I the reason that things turned so bad? I asked similar questions when my marriage fell to bits.??? ??????????. This was the first cause of worry to my being. "Huh, a Circular container instead of a Rectangle Container? They really must be swinging for the fences with this new marketing campaign!" Is what I initially thought. But unfortunately the shape of container was not the only thing that changed, The shape of my heart did as well.I am unsure what caused the change in quality and container. But I am sure that it was a change for the worse. The man behind the counter, who used to pick me up with his "Wok Hay" was no longer present. I hope you are doing well. I can only imagine with whatever venture you are pursuing has the same Breath of Life as your cooking did Sir.Your food picked me up when I was down. Your food brought a smile to a stale face when nothing could. The only thing your food could not fix was my blistering marriage, but I do not hold this against you. Your food made me ???? again. No, not your food, YOU.You will be missed. You will be loved. You will be honored.?????? ??? ??????????, ??? ??????? ????? ???.
I will never order again from here the food is just horrible and has no flavor trust me save your cash ..I literally ordered 6 shrimp egg rolls and gave me these uncooked looking spring egg rolls
Wings not good order 5 ate half of one threw rest away, fries not good either but I ate those
Ordered 2 large shrimp fried rice and literally got 2 boxes of rice, there was only 4-5 baby shrimp in both boxes
Quick and easy always consistent... For what it is, they do a nice job..
