Considering that I have been coming here my entire life, it only seems fitting that I finally leave a review. No seriously, my parents brought me here when I was a baby all the time and there was a polaroid of me in my basket on the wall.Joss is easily the best sushi that I have ever had in my life. My parents travel for a living (both work for Delta) where they have been all over the world (including Japan/Hawaii) and say this is the best sushi they’ve ever. The fish is SO fresh. It’s melt in your mouth delicious. This place is a staple of Annapolis and whenever I come home I have to get it. Love you guys

I'm a regular here and I've always been super pleased with management and staffing. One of our servers sees us come in every once in a while and actually remembers our usual drink order. Go to formal place for us and couldn't recommend any other.

Very good sushi, stopped by for lunch and did not have to wait long. Service was efficient, and staff was very pleasant. I visited with family as it received high ratings on yelp and I was craving sushi while shopping in the area.

Mouthwatering! The Chilean bass miso was sooooo good!!! The fried tofu too. Our server was so wonderful! She offered opinions and recommendations and she was spot on with everything she recommended.

Have been several times and the food has always been good. It's not great and changing but it is good. A nice view or a quiet table are available. It seems they may have larger private rooms also. Staff has always been great.

The food and ambiance was wonderful. The only down side is that our server didn't seem very experienced. He did not come back to the table often and he kept forgetting to bring things we asked for. Other than that it was a good experience.

Best sushi in Annapolis!!!!

Tried Joss for a family night out of sushi and sashimi. Joss is a nice restaurant and located on prime real estate on Main Street in downtown Annapolis. The menu has a variety of sushi rolls, sushi platters, sashimi (by the selection) and a limited number of other items, like noodles and tempura. The sushi rolls had a selection that were wide and varied. We ordered several and while they were expensive, you felt you got your money’s worth the amount and the taste. End result, the sushi is good. When to came to the sashimi, you have to order by the piece, there were no sashimi platters, which is fine but the by the piece method adds up, with two pieces of sashimi averaging between $6 to $8 dollars. Normally this is fine but the sashimi we received was not very good, the tuna and salmon were cut up into tiny pieces and placed in a hollowed out cucumber, instead of the normal slices you see with sashimi (not sure if this is a different method or a twist) but it was hard eating tiny bits of sashimi and not very satisfying. The other selections were fine but the sashimi felt rushed and thrown on the plate like an after thought compared to the sushi. Our server, while nice, was rushed and felt like he was trying to get us in and out. Which was not a great feeling. Overall Joss has good sushi, not so great sashimi, average service, great location and is expensive.

I realize when you are in the historic district of Annapolis, the last thing that comes to mind is sushi. But do your taste buds a favor and try out Joss'. It was highly recommended by our Inn Keeper (Flag House) as well as a local friend. We were not disappointed. We started with a delicious appetizer of (I believe they called it a spring roll), it is pictured on TripAdvisor. It was amazing. It is big enough to share. Then we shared the teriyaki steak. The entire meal was excellent. As with everyplace these days, they were short handed so there was a little extra wait. Please do not hold the restaurant responsible for being short staffed or is food take a little longer to prepare. Everyone is doing the best they can during these trying times. Sit back, relax, have some hot sake and enjoy the great food.

Great drinks! Vegetarian creamy broth for Ramen was incredible! Great sushi worth the wait.
