Jalapeños had beautiful decor and a great atmosphere. The owner was very polite and most helpful in choosing a tequila. My waitress was quite attentive. I ordered El Cubano (a Cuban sandwich). Normally, I'd order a Mexican dish, but I haven't had a good Cuban sandwich since I was in Miami. This one was heavenly and at least as good as the Miami version. I would come back just for the sandwich. Hopefully, next time I'll be able to try some Mexican food. I also sampled the Gran Centenario Leyenda Añejo tequila, but I would not recommend that. It was heavily scented with whiskey flavor. They may age their tequila in used whiskey barrels.
Delicious happy hour at Jalapeños!Everything was so amazing, we enjoyed everything so much can’t wait for our next visit. We enjoyed:?House Margaritas and chips & salsa?Mejillones en Salsa - Mussels in red sauce? Stuffed jalapeno peppers with chicken and cheese? Alcachofas Salteadas- Artichoke hearts sauteed in olive oil? Solomillo de Cerdo al Jerez- Pork tenderloin in a sweet cream sauceThe bar was packed when we arrived, around 5:40 pm. Half of our time was a loud and vibrant atmosphere and the other half was quiet and lovely. The staff was pleasant, helpful and gave us the delicious recommendation of the red sauce for the mussels. So good! Thanks again Jalapeños for taking such good care of us.
Breaking up with this restaurant. After going here for 15 + years I knew something was different. It no longer has the same love that once went into this place. The food and service was horrible. Don’t waste your time coming here much better restaurants in town.
This is an Annapolis standout, somewhat hidden in that its in an older strip mall. Don’t let the location fool you, this is one of the best quality restaurants in the area. Spanish cuisine, there are always 20-30 choices fro tapas, which will include very well made seafood and lamb choices. Good wine and tequila selection.
Hadn’t been here in a few years, and decided to stop on for date night a couple weeks ago. We were sat immediately. We ordered 5-6 tapas (small plates) to share. While it was nearly impossible to pick a favorite, the Ceviche was my top pick! The atmosphere is very charming and moody. Will be back very soon.
It has many great menu items, but the rice was unseasoned and plain white. Also, the staff is cleaning and clearing and restocking tables perfectly... But not looking at the floor for debris. The table next to us left and the table cleaned.. But straws left at floor around table.
Ambiance inside very friendly. But hard to find...in Home Depot plaza next to Dollar Store. Come on in. Friendly hard-working staff. 2stars for drinks cause all ice. Not Tex-Mex but rather with Spanish flair. We are going back and also return for a happy hour.
Mexican influenced tapas are terrificThe shrimp in garlic are a given and then a wide variety of Spanish/Mexican small plates. Of course there are entries, but we always liked the variety of tapas. They seem to have a lively bar as well as two dining rooms
ABSOLUTE GEM.Do not let the proximity of this restaurant to the Dollar Tree give you the wrong impression (no disrespect to Dollar Tree). This is one of the best restaurants in the region. The exact same dishes would go for 3x the cost in DC or Philly. They've somehow found a way to bring a $$$$ dining experience for $$. I'm still kind of in shock. The ambiance is pleasant, the drinks are good, but the FOOD! Best tacos I've had in a year. Best tapas I've had...maybe ever. Tremendous selection and everything was amazing. Can't recommend highly enough. This is what the tapas experience is supposed to be, but it's definitely not what it's supposed to cost (in the good sense).Build this chef a monument.
Do not let the outside fool you, this restaurant is great! The food is full of flavor with nice sized portions (enough to need a to go box). The staff is friendly and professional. I will definitely go back soon.
