A true Maryland style setup right on the water. Great views and good food. I got the captain lou’s platter. The crab cake was good but the rockfish was tough. I wish I would have gotten the broiler vs fried so my mistake. The soft shell crab was good and the fries were crisp. My wife got the lump crab imperial which was very tasty. The veggies were cooked just right. We were going to get the all you can eat (Maryland) crabs but we decided that we wanted to go other places for our date night. I would go back for the Maryland blue crabs. Great atmosphere or vibe.
On our way home to NJ from VA, we decided to stop for lunch here. Has been well over 15-18 years since here last n so happy we did. Crabs were so sweet butter was not needed. They never disappoint! Scrumptious fries n onion rings as well!
Couldn't be happier with our experience. Wait wasn't bad (Sunday night at 8pm) and spent the extra time watching the crabs and walking the docks. Fresh seafood cooked to order, piping hot when it came out. Great service and atmosphere. Hands-down the best old bay seasoning. And shout-out to Kaitlyn who was the sweetest waitress and went above and beyond. Can't wait to eat here again
For a rainy day the place was packed, we seated on the porch side and was a great view. Staff very friendly and work quick to get ur order.Stopped for a quick bite to try crab cake it was tasty kinda pricy for the one you see on the pictures, it comes with bread I choose not to get bc my goal was only to try the crab by itself.Great for large groups.
Looking for someplace for lunch we choose Cantler's, and were glad that we did! We both had a Crab Cake Sandwich, with fries. The Crab Cakes were a decent size and tasted very good! The fries were also cooked well, and tasty! Service was very good! The iced tea and sodas come in small disposable plastic cups ($3 with free refills), it would be nice if they switched to a different cup!
Crabs, crabs, crabs-whole or prepared for you. Tasty raw clams and succulent mussels in a rustic picnic table setting outside overlooking water and an osprey nest. The location appears remote so follow GPS directions.
This restaurant is not easy to find, so if you haven't been here before be sure to use your GPS for directions. This is one of several places my husband and I frequent a lot for crabs. The food is normally good, however, for some reason this time around the crabs were NOT good at all. I informed our waitress (Jackie) that the crabs were not good and it seems as though she had an attitude. They either were over cooked or old because they were soft and mushy. She did however, bring me a couple of new crabs but the same outcome they were even cold :(. I will NOT be returning to this location. They only had large ($100 a dozen) which in my opinion were NOT large more like mediums. They also had All You Can Eat for 2 hours of small crabs.
We go their several times during crab season. It has been featured in several National tv shows. It is a great example of a Md. crab restaurant! One warning this restaurant is at it’s best when you want steamed or fried seafood and sides! It’s not a the best for fancy seafood dinners. Crabs are served right out of the steamer right after the fresh crabs are brought in by boats. This restaurant is not easy to find, so if you don’t have a GPS get directions. There’s often a wait on weekend but you can sit at their bar or there are some benches out. Great place for locals and tourists!
Location here is great, but the food is horrible and way over priced. I don't normally rate restaurants, but this could not be overlooked. Tourists to Annapolis need to know this is NOT good seafood. I am sure its fresh, but the preparation is very lacking. Salad, soup, and dinner came out all at the same time. Cream of crab bowl is $19, salad not fresh, crab cake was the worst I've ever had. Coleslaw wasn't even good. Take a ride to Glen Burnie, Pasadena, or Kent Island for great seafood.
Cantler’s is always a great time. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and you can see the water from the restaurant. Dress is casual. We had the Medium crabs while there and they tasted like Chesapeake Bay crabs to me. The wait staff were all kind and helpful, and available. The crabs were good, the Key Lime Pie was yummy, and the coffee was decent.
