Lovely coffeehouse with service. However, they let you sit in or outside as long as you like. You can work there or just relax. Staff is amazing. Very cozy and comforting place. There is also a terrace in the back of the bar which is next to a parking lot but the terrace is separated by green bushes. If you want to avoid to sit next to the street but you want to sit outside, use the "hidden" terrace behind the bar

Great coffee, great breakfast, great vibes on West Street. It's small but there is plenty of indoor seating and two tables out front. The original fireplaces are so cool. Our server was sweet and helped me find a good whole bean to bring home. Wish I lived in walking distance to make this my morning spot!

It's a travesty this place exists in such a great town. Customer service is awful (and apologies to the wait staff that are great). To the nice young server with gauge earrings - I understand the world is against you, but probably not a great idea to treat customers as an inconvenience. Not to worry, we will not bother you at 49 West again, and will remove your establishment from any recommended list we give to guests and visitors. Best of luck guys and here's to hoping new management turns this place around!

Love this place with a real coffeehouse vibe. The music is great and the food is always good... crab dip is awesome and they've added some Korean dishes. Wait staff is attentive. The place is pretty small but they make it work. Fun venue for a night out with friends.

The coffee was good, the oatmeal was warm and filling, the ambiance of the restaurant is comfortable and cafe classic, the prices were steep (15$ of bagel and salmon; 7.95 for oatmeal and banana, 4$ for a small coffee), but the barista and staff were very unwelcoming and unfriendly. I left feeling that I offended them, even though I was polite and friendly. As I left I felt that they could careless about me returning to support their small business. If their goal is to just take orders and serve, then they achieved it today. But for the price they charge, portions sizes they serve, and more importantly the unwelcoming attitude, you would better off going to a different place to get coffee and breakfast on West St. like Dunkin’ across the street.

The bartender "Taylor" is the best, every expresso I drink here is nothing less than perfect. The best espresso martinis in town. great wine and beer selection, very relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this place. 5 Stars

Our evening at 49 West was awesome. We sat in for a 13 piece jazz jam session which was evidently the best kept secret in town as it was only us and the extremely talented musicians who traveled from Philadelphia, DC, Baltimore, Alexandria and Annapolis to play some of v the best jazz that I have heard in awhile. In addition our food and wine was delicious and extremely rationally priced. Our server was gracious and offered great service while not interfering with the musical experience. I understand this is a 3rd Thursday of the month Jazz Jam and I know we will become regulars despite our hour and a quarter drive!

Tasty oat milk matcha latte. Staff is all pretty nice!I’m losing it at the reviewer on here complaining about a fly landing in her food. Are you stupid? You didn’t think to swat it away ? Never had a fly land in your food? Ever been outside of your house? And you got fully comped and still are complaining? Absolute madnessAnyways try this place’s assortment of drinks ♥️

The best chai latte in town! So creamy and frothy. An egg and turkey bacon on a croissant was just what I needed!
