Great place, friendly service! Go early though, it gets busy quickly
Some might say the bagels are too bready but I love them. The new space is set up well, so the line moves quickly. I haven’t seen as many vegan baked options recently but there’s always something.
Great sandwiches and food bread. My kids devoured several chicken salad sandwiches, which is an unusual miracle. They're very good at what they do.My one complaint is that the pretzel bread had a strongly phenolic (look it up) flavor that was off-putting enough that I wouldn't order it again unless it's addressed. I don't know if it's a lye bath process problem or sanitizer left over from dishwashing, but it's not ok.I would go back.
Very good local bakery, and while the bagels are indeed good, I would take issue with the folks throwing superlatives around like these are the best bagels of all time. I went twice on a recent visit to South Portland, the line Saturday morning at 730 am was already down the block. Coffee and other pastries were also very good. Very much a must if you are nearby.
Went for first time this AM. Couldn't believe how long the line was down the sidewalk....then I tried a bagel and realized why! Best bagels & scones I've ever had, hands down! And their system moves customers through very efficiently.
The Maine sea salt bagel is world class, I’m not sure it can be beat. People laugh when I say the best bagels are in Portland but I never hear them talking after picking up a dozen on the way north. Only noms..
Excellent little neighborhood bakery, well worth the wait (ordering ahead will help with that)
The best bagels I've ever had. Their bagels are made more like bread, with a bit of a sourdough taste. They crisp up perfectly in the toaster, and with the cream cheese they sell here, they are a real treat and one of my favorite things to enjoy in the morning. The rest of their pastries and breads are also amazing, but make sure to order early or they will sell out! Be patient with those working here, especially during the pandemic. Everyone in the service industry is being worked brutally hard, and some consideration and friendliness goes a long way.
Amazing bagels. Always a must have when visiting the area. Get there early to ensure you get their amazing bagels. Love their cream cheese as well.
Pretty tasty bakery. We picked up bagels to take over to the Head Lighthouse for a little breakfast picnic. Make sure you ask for you bagels to be sliced, because they do not automatically come sliced.
