Friendly’s is a great chain based restaurant that’s known for their friendly customer service and for serving guests delicious burger meals and ice cream desserts.When vacationing in South Portland, Maine in May of 2022, I brought and treated my wife for dinner at Friendly’s.We were warmly welcomed and graciously treated by the restaurant staff and we found our meals to be quite tasty and delicious!!!I ordered a turkey burger with fries while my wife ordered a salad. Our meals were timely served and had a decent serving size.Both my wife and I highly recommend for everyone to visit and dine at Friendly’s!!!
I have been going to Friendly's for close to 20 years at this particular location. Tonight I had the most horrible experience. I was berated by a manager in front of the entire restaurant. This was after waiting 45 minutes for my food and my sons food. Meanwhile the rest of our family had finished eating. I just want to celebrate my sons first track meet. I am so terribly displeased . We were asked to leave after the entire bill was comped. I only asked that the situation be acknowledged. I will never go back again. Very bad customer service. Also, the food was gross. My son ordered a turkey burger. It came out looking like a scab on a bun. Anyways, if you are going for food don't go here. I highly recommend the ice cream. I was disappointed that I was not given the chance to order ice cream.
Amelia here was really great. She was friendly and great. As for the food, slight overcook on the burger, but no fault to the waiter. Also a forgivable offense as it is better to overcook than undercook. Ice cream was excellent as always. Also of note, I use a non-linear method of calculation. Overall would rate 9.1 / 10 however did not receive the fifth star as I reserve it for places that are flawless. In all fairness everyone makes a mistake once in a while. Therefore is very difficult in my opinion to earn.
5/2/22 showed up an hour after they opened, 4 tables being used... with a bunch of elderly lined up around the corner. One person waiting. Employee walked by everyone at least 10 times. Not seating anyone. Lots of people walked out. Loosing business. If you don’t have the staff… what is the point of opening? I have never been to a place with such horrible service.
I went in for lunch today with a client and I can't say enough nice things about the experience we had. Most places struggle with individuals who have communication issues. Our waitress Hailey did not. She was incredibly sweet to both of us, very attentive but not overly so and her vibrant smile definitely showed she cared. Their were a few other guests who were giving her a bit of a hard time and she handled amazingly, super professional and it didn't appear to faze her in anyway. Hey Friendly's, I don't know if you do bonuses, or some sort of recognition for great service, if you do, Hailey 100% deserves it.
The shift supervisor, Nicole D, DESERVES ALL THE APPRECIATION. She’s amazingly sweet and generous and has made me a new friendly’s regular customer. After seeing her employee post on the Friendly’s Facebook page, I sent her a private message telling her it was my good friend’s birthday and, as a major Friendly’s simp, I wanted to buy him a Friendly’s hat. She quickly responded to me offering to not only give Mason a hat, but to set up a whole birthday table just for him. She asked how many guests we were expecting and what time/day we would be there and set up the cutest birthday table with balloons, decorations, and candy. She even made him a custom birthday card!!! So thank you, again, Nicole for everything you did. We all very much appreciate you ?
Really great experience here. Came in to get a couple of shakes and my free birthday sundae, and a really sweet girl Nio made me some delicious treats. Made my birthday a little bit more special. You should sign up for the new Sweet Rewards thing here because you get lots of free stuff and good coupons!
I have tried these guys several times. Food is good, which is why we go back. Service, though, is horrible and seems to have gotten worse. Yesterday in particular was bad like really bad. The G.M. Garrett (I think, but I really hope he isn't) was not the only rude but doesn't know how to talk to customers. They had my go-to food in the window for over 7 minutes while I waited in the lobby for it. I saw them put it in the window but was ignored by the multiple employees that saw me there. I tried to talk to the G.M. But he was ignoring me as I was talking and walked away. This guy was in a blue shirt. He shouldn't be working as a G.M. in my opinion. He should be cleaning the parking lot and shoveling snow or taking out the trash. That's probably the position that he is qualified for. Horrible customer service. We won't be back. Why people come here is beyond me.
Ten people working, yet i had to stand there, with no one in line in front of me, for almost two minutes waiting to order ice cream. One employee kept walking past me not saying a word. I had to just leave. No one wanted to serve customers. They were too busy cleaning the counter. This place is a sad joke!!!
The menu pictures and food brought to our table were of no comparison. Food itself was mediocre at best. For example...the brisket sandwich was a thin grilled cheese with a few pieces of meat...so underwhelming. The turkey dinner...well..the turkey was of the pressed luncheon kind...again...disappointed. Do not, I repeat, do not order the coffee...wet socks...wet. socks.
