Great bbq! I loved the sides but my boyfriend did not. Fries were not an option so if you don't like bbq beans, coleslaw, Mac and cheese, or spring salad mix, you may have a hard time picking a side. The BBQ makes up for that! They also have Downeast on draft!

My boyfriend and I visited Elsmere last year during the pandemic when they were doing outdoor seating. We loved the food so much, we came back during our trip this year. Unfortunately, the food isn’t that great anymore.The brisket was a little fatty, but not the worst. The salad was literally just lettuce and cheese. The coleslaw was so flavorless, just covered in vinegar. We asked the waitress for another side, and she wasn’t that nice about it. I felt like we were a bother. She also didn’t mention the weekly special cocktail or food. We would’ve ordered from there if we knew about it.I’m giving them a 3/5 because I can see that they are trying. I completely understand how difficult it for the hospitality/restaurant industry during these hard times, which is why we are trying to eat out and support the restaurants around us as much as we can! But this wasn’t the amazing first experience that we had last year.On the other hand, the bartender knows what they are doing! We ordered the Jalisco & the John Daly and both are incredibly flavorful and strong!Also, the hostess working on 10/29/2021 was so sweet!All in all, I would try them out. The bar is really nice and so is the restaurant. But, I wouldn’t expect it to be the best BBQ spot in town.
Had the brisket sandwich and swapped the chips for collard greens. The greens were tasty, and very tender. Brisket had a very good seasoning and was nice and juicy! Definitely would recommend and eat here again!
Elesmere used to be a consistent, high quality establishment. Unfortunately, quality and service have quickly gone downhill the last two times we have visited. The Ribs were fatty and tough & Pulled pork was cold and tough- not warm and tender.Hopefully they can turn it around as I think this is a great neighborhood spot.
