8/14/22.. I love this place, and so does my girlfriend as well as every guest we bring here! The food is exceptional as well as the atmosphere however after multiple brunches enjoyed here I only have the one complaint, and that it has been the same complaint after every brunch. I have hoped it would change but alas it hasn't. The bartender on the brunch shift is the problem, she is not friendly, comes off a bit rude but I don't think it's intentional, it's just her demeanor. She will only make a few and when I say few I mean a few type of drinks. I don't know if it's lack of trying or desire or maybe it's the establishment marketing directive. However, it would be better served with someone at the very least more approachable and friendly. All that said that's our only complaint, we will continue to come to and enjoy Wilson County BBQ it's a great place. check out the brunch dishes we enjoyed, the fried chicken and waffles are my favorite... everything here is good. Still ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ but 4.8 based upon the bartender. See you soon WCBBQ!

Ordered a mimosa flight, chicken and noodles (they aren't dumplings), a chopped salad, hush puppies, mac-n-cheese and fried shrimp. Everything was tasty and fresh- the salad was amazing, great crunch and delicious flavors. The chicken and dumplings were wide noodles and chicken and it was SO flavorful, the chicken was very tender. Our boys loved the shrimp, hush puppies and mac-n-cheese. Easy to order, good service and lots of beverage options.

Absolutely the best BBQ in Maine and maybe anywhere came from RI for the week to Bayside Bowl for the Pba tour and your food was delicious we came twice over 6 days highly recommended

Great food and drink! Ample indoor and outdoor seating.

My daughter and her boyfriend took me out for my birthday dinner. Reminded me of my recent trip to Waco Texas in the barbecue restaurants I experience there. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely be going back.

My current favorite place! Went there yesterday and tried some fried chicken with hush puppies, cheese grits and baked beans. Everything was great. Literally, great. I'll definitely be back soon to try something else on the menu. Probably pulled pork, but I digress. The staff were great, as well. The moment you walked in the door they were greeting you and welcoming you and ready to talk you through the menu. Very genuine feel here. Full bar also with blues playing in the background.

My first visit here was this past weekend when I was in Portland for a wedding. I’m originally from the south, so I am always preparing for disappointment at BBQ places outside of that region.Wilson County may possibly be one of the best bbq places I’ve ever had, period. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and both were 10/10!The ambiance is cool AF, very relaxed, clean, modern, and cozy.Their sweet tea was truly sweet, unlike most places who call their tea sweet. Will absolutely be going back the next time I visit!

I love their fried pickle chips. It's a great deal for $8. They give you a lot! Share with a friend. ? The drinks are nice too, I had a rum punch. I was worried I would taste coconut because I don't care for it, but it has a very faint flavor of it.

A nice spacious restaurant with a ton of outdoor seating and a very large bar. They had a lot of beers on tap and a go up to the counter ordering system. The food was pretty good. A ton of fried stuff is on the menu but they really had only two BBQ options: pulled pork and baby back ribs. We tried the baby back ribs and they were decent. They still had a lot of fat on them but they had an extremely unique hot BBQ sauce/rub that I really enjoyed. The fried chicken we ordered was crispy, moist and had a slightly sweet flavor. If you don't necessarily want BBQ they have a number of other options like fried shrimp or grilled chicken sandwiches.

I’ve been here a few times. Love the atmosphere & the people & some (not all) of the food.First off, the hushpuppies are amazing!!! By far my favorite thing. Second fave is the fried shrimp. It’s awesome! Large meaty shrimp, cooked to perfection. The chicken sandwich is very very good! Chicken & waffles yummy!! The pulled pork is ok although hubby said it was rather tough. Pulled pork should be tender, not tough. Today I had the fried chicken, I’d been wanting to try this for a while & had high hopes. It was a big letdown I’m sorry to say. I probably should’ve sent it back cuz as soon as I picked it up it looked very dark & quite dry. Dry is an understatement! Wow, I had to go get some ranch & soak it in that or it would be like sawdust. (breast meat) the thigh was better, dark meat is just more moist naturally. I will never order it again. I thought that maybe that’s just how they cook it, then I see someone walking by with the same meal I got with golden delicious looking, perfectly cooked fried chicken! That really irritated me as I knew mine was just a very overcooked batch. So in all $71. & we had overcooked dry chicken, tough pork & a good chicken sandwich & fantastic hushpuppies. Not a great deal. However in the past I’ve had the shrimp, twice & it is fantastic! The bbq dusted fries are really good as well. The cheese grits are terrible. Loaded with onion! I will be back as I like the atmosphere, outside seating with fire pits & lighting & the people there r super nice! Just a review to let others know what’s good & not so good. I personally don’t like spending $ & getting subpar food. I’m not very good about speaking up though…. I will stick to what I know is good here! I didn’t think to take a pic of my meal b4 I started eating. This is what I had left. U can see in the pic how incredibly dry that chicken is.
