I spent around $15 for a small mocha and a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. The breakfast sandwich was incredible, the mocha on the other hand was not. It tasted very muddy and very sub par for a mocha. I would go back for the food and the customer service. But the mocha and the price for my order has me weary.
I'd say its the best cup in the city, but you'll get no arguments about the half a dozen great places in the neighborhood. A+.
Literally the best breakfast sandwiches we've ever had! Their apple and maple scone was delicious as well! They had wonderful customer service, we will definitely be back again!

Just moved to the area and was looking for a coffee shop where I could work and get a good latte. Came to speckled ax after it showed up on my Google search for best coffee shops in the area. One review even said how great the wifi was.
I had an oat milk latte that the best I had in 6 days away from Seattle. Friendly service from a nice barista who gave my great tips for a walking tour of town too.
Stumbled upon this cafe on our most recent visit to Portland. They had a great selection and the iced coffee was one of the strongest and most flavorful cups I’ve had in this area. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.
