On my 6/23/22 trip the food was good but service and bar staff was horrible. Bartender made excuses to clean table and was rude about it (too busy). In addition the Montego sway had little or no rum and when asked for something else the bartender had more than an attitude. Usually restaurant staff would ask “how can we make it right” but this was not the case. I believe the bartender was the manager or owner and that’s why I would say away, lot better choices in Portland.

Visited around 8pm on a second trip to Wharf Street. Had previously been disappointed by Gritty's and wanted to sample the extensive range of drafts on offer. When we walked in there were two others at the bar, half an hour later there were at least twelve others and people seated outside. The one barman was attentive to everyones needs and had time to explain their offering - a great asset to the business. I had a couple of draft IPA's and accompanied them with shrimp tacos - I'd describe them as being "gumbo" in a soft tortilla. Three for $12 and they were excellent.

I’m blown away by their food… SUPER impressed by the level of quality, quantity, and fast delivery of all food options. Burger is the best I’ve ever had at a bar, coast to coast. Lobster roll also had a generous amount of meat! All very tasty ? thank you!

Great Pub with friendly service from Zack. The vibe was great, the oysters were fantastic!Great pints, great spot for some friendly local vibe.

Great bar to stop my after a few drinks. A little small but great atmosphere. I would definitely come back

Competitive prices for fresh food, and a promising local beer selection. The food menu is small but they prepare it well (which is what really matters imho). My partner had the chicken tacos, the meat was tender and nicely seasoned. I had the grass-fed burger which was excellent, very juicy patty and the brioche bun was very delicate.

Wow we visited this place on a food tour and great selection of beer but more importanly they had the best lobster rolls we tasted. I would go back again just for their lobster rolls and great selection of local beers

While driving through the area, we decided to stop in Portland on a whim for dinner on a Friday night. After 2 awful encounters with the "top date night" places, we stopped in here. The bartenders were uplifting and friendly and the accompanying food was satisfyingly good. It definitely wasn't the Friday night we had planned for but Mash Tun saved our night, redeamed our opinion of Portland and was just what we needed. It was our first time in Portland but if we ever find ourselves in the area again, we know we'll be skipping the pretentious restaurants and trying out more of these friendly places.

I've been going to Mash Tun since they were a tiny hole in the wall bar with a massive selection of beer and the burgers were only cooked one way (perfectly). Nothing has changed except for the amount of available seating which means there is usually a spot open. Whenever I go out on the town in Portland, I always go here first without fail.

Fantastic burger and cocktails for a really good price. One of the best burgers in portland. They also have lots on tap! Doesn't look like much from the outside, but this place is a real hidden gem
