My son's, who live out of state, came up for a nice weekend visit. By happenstance we ended up at the Old Port Tavern. The waitress was very friendly and bubbly. We really enjoyed her. The atmosphere was really fun and engaging. There is custom iron work and huge aquariums. I think the salt water one in the back is 375 gallons. Beautiful. I had a Greek salad with grilled chicken, my oldest son had the French dip and my youngest son had the lobster roll. The food came out very quickly and was fresh and tasty. Nothing bad to say. Was it amazing? No, not really. It was above average. We will be back. Thanks for a great lunch!
They WILL NOT protect their patients outside that place even with a bouncer at the door. BE CAREFUL. I was sucker punched outside and the bouncer told me to leave. Sorry I don't understand that. WTF The victim had to leave.
For the price, the quality of the food was sub par . Lobster Mac and cheese was sour, chicken wrap was so dry and lacked substance. Baked potato tasted like it was microwaved and the wings were very pink on the inside. The only positive thing was the haddock dinner and the waitress.
This place is awesome, great food, awesome drinks and friendly staff!! The fish tanks are pretty sweet too. This is the kind of place I'd like to perform!
Awesome atmosphere, the restaurant is rather large and can seat quite a few people. The drinks are a great deal, I paid 7$ for a Moscow mule while we waited that was delicious. Wait staff were very friendly and the takeout was amazing. The food came before I took a few sips of my drink, and was delish + very generous portions for the price.
Came in for lunch. The place was empty. The Prime Rib Sandwich had Zero flavor. Kind of like the meat was made of rubber. The Jous for dipping was also tasteless. Just colored water. Fries were ok. The Coke was half water, over ice, half melted. Just a big fat disappointment for a Day Off Lunch. I didn't even take the second half with me. It wasn't worth the effort to box it up.
In between bars on New Years Eve do we stopped in on a whim. Glad we did the bar staff was great, the music was good (except for the MIA DJ) and the drinks were well priced and well mixed. Not loud, not trendy just a good old fashioned bar.
restaurant in the basement cozy and calm atmosphere. the cup of clam showder was correct however for the dish what a disappointment ... We wanted to eat lobster so we chose the menu: lobster stuffed haddock. .we asked the waitress who specified that it was lobster with haddock in the sauce. A piece of lobster covering everything except that it was the opposite little lobster to see nonexistent and a large piece of haddock. .there is a deception on the sentence it should be: Haddock stuffed Lobster. Indeed it is a tourist trap and the aquarium is not everything ..
The prime rib was delicious. Sat at the bar had great service. If I'm ever in Portland again I would definitely go back.
Mixed review here which I do not normally do. Our food tasted great but there is a lack of training here for food allergens. I notified the waitress when ordering I had a gluten allergy, she went in the back to make sure their BBQ sauce was gluten free, she said it was. I asked about the fries she said they also were gluten free. Meal came, I ate a few fries before noticing they did kind of look breaded, I asked the waitress again, so she double checked and they were not glut
