Be aware that the tasting room is in a different location from the distillery, just a block away and has different hours. Tasting was good. Nice chat with distiller although no explanation of what makes their spirits special.
I showed up just after they closed and was invited in given a grand tour. This distillery is located in a Brewing industrial park and is a welcome addition. We talked about all the spirits that they made there and had soooo many samples and all of this after hours. I can not recommend this distillery enough. I bought a bottle of rum on my way out and a bottle of rye from a local supermarket.
Got a Groupon to check this place out. The location is super easy to get to, plenty of parking. The woman who was there giving us a tour was extremely knowledgable and kind. It was interesting to learn about the process and what sets this distillery apart from larger distilleries. Some of the most flavorful whiskey, rum, bourbon, and gin we have had. Highly recommend!!
It was pretty quiet due to it being a weekday. However, had a great time and Tim gave us a tour of the place and was very knowledgeable!. Would definitely recomend going. Especially the Gin it was delicious !
Great experience!!
TripAdvisor map has the in the wrong location. That or they have another tasting room on Industrial Way meat Foundation Brewery. We enjoyed this stop a lot. Highly recommend it!
Stopped at New England Distilling while on the Brew Bus tour. Met the owner, Ned, and heard about his background, the spirits, the process and had samples. Really liked the Tide Walker bourbon & Eight Bells Rum! Great little gift shop if you want a bottle or some swag. A huge thumbs up for a great Maine business with great spirits!! Well done.
We loved it here! All of the things we tasted were amazing, and the distiller that gave us the tour was very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended if you’re in the area!
One of the highlights of our trip to Portland. It was an immersive sensory experience, as we walked through the process (historical origins and modern introductions) and unpacked the complex flavors. If you are interested in a brief, poignant educational tour with personal hospitality do not miss out!
