Solo traveler here. I came on Cinco de Mayo and the seating was self seating. I thought it was odd but a waitress came around eventually. I bought the chicken and steak fajitas, the meat seemed really juicy and fresh! Lots of toppings to create your own fajita tacos. The bathrooms were nice. We got fried ice cream and it was also very good!
Made me barf my guts up. Sadly I have to give a one star review. I used to eat here all the time and while the food does taste good, the place is clearly not sanitary. I ate here last night and got food poisoning, I called back today to talk to a manager but was put on hold and treated rudely. It makes me upset, but there's no way I'm going back and risking getting this sick again.
I was so happy to discover this great establishment is still going strong! No wait for a table of 4 on a Saturday night, food was just as great as I remember from years ago, their basic margarita was amazing, and our waitress was awesome! We were totally happy with everything!! Can't wait to go back again!
The management is bad. They couldn't care less about your business. I've seen this at two other locations too. But the food is decent. Drinks are good. Prices are super expensive. Bartenders are amazing.

Went here for the first time with my wife, oh man, this restaurant is a gem, the food was bomb, the service was fast and great, I recommend this restaurant all day. I’d give the is place 100 stars if I could. Will be eating here again.
Found this gem when vacationing in Portland. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and food was really good especially my margaritas!!! Would definitely stop again.

M bf and i were in Portland from Cape Cod for a show at Cross (which in itself was far dissappointing)...thank God we found Tio Juan's Margaritas. We would give you 20 stars if we could. We called first for the wait and the hostess was sweet and patient answered our questions. We took a chance to come in and glad we did; we immediately were able to sit at the bar and I wish i could find my receipt for the 2 awesome bartenders (one was young blonde who cracked up when i put on 2nd pair of glasses LOL and the other was probably 35ish woman) both deserve a huge shoutout because they actually cared that we came in and gave us the time we needed as newbies. The Margaritas were the best (plenty of Patron) and the homemade salsa was so delicious we bought 6 to take home. We had the mini chimi's and chicken/steak fahitas and quac and were delighted. There was a local young couple sitting next to us we all were talking turns out he deep sea fishes on cape cod. then Brandon the GM came out to deliver my guac and we struck up conversation and we told him too bad we didn't have one of these local to us; WELL....turns out they're opening one in Hyannis, MA summer 2022. What i noticed having been in food industry forever is that its all hands on; no one waits....great communication and outstanding customer service...was this a LONG shoutout YOU BET THANKS AGAIN WE WILL BE BACK to Portand, ME many times throughout the year.
