Wonderful food, service and ambiance but $17 for 3 bites of scallop ceviche was ASTRONOMICAL!!
Great food and great service. Was a little bit hot in the restaurant but it was one of the hottest days of summer. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic, as always. Amazing food & service.
Nice ambience, good service. Food was fine but very small portions (even for a main course) and expensive.
Just arrived in Portland for our annual summer visit & returned to Local 188. Thankfully itâs still as great as ever. I had the scallops & spouse had the chicken. Both were delicious. We couldnât decide between 2 desserts so got both: the chocolate torte & fresh berry cobbler. Wonderful!
This was our first visit post pandemic and Local 188 is not the same place. The food was mediocre and borderline unsafe - far from the interesting Spanish-influenced dishes that we loved. They served raw (cold) kafka as an app, and when we pointed it out, we were met with disbelief and an offer to 'warm it up' if we wanted - this was not tartar, but a closer to a raw meatball on a stick. They did replace and recook the dish, but did not offer apologies and charged full price. For our main course we split the wasabi coated scallops - that were overcooked, did not have any wasabi on them and portion-wise was smaller than the appetizers - four defrosted very small rubbery salty scallops. Very disappointing and we should have gone across the street for a senora dog and a marg.
Cool vibe. Limited but dynamic menu with great locally sourced options.
We are discovering all the great food places in Portland. This is our latest venture.
I ordered the tuna I was not impressed, I couldnât even cut it with a knife, there was so much gristle . Unfortunately, I will not be returning in the near future. My husbands steak was tasteful but also had a lot of fat.
The cocktails were great, the food was disappointing for the price.
