The starter offering is awash in new England charm and a stunning handing of snap peas, elderflower (cocktail menu) and whipped beans. I’ve never been so captivated by beans in my entire adult life. The conviction with which this menu was prepared is assertive even with its delicate accoutrements. Did I bring up the peas? Snap peas make their face known the most here with the halibut this season, this restaurant is a delicate bonanza.
Leeward is amazing! My husband and I did not have reservations, but the hostess said if we came back in an hour she could give us a seat at the bar. The staff members at Leeward are caring and very attentive. We had a delicious meal and cocktails. We asked the girl tending bar for a wine recommendation and it was a hit. Thank you so much for a great evening of food and kindness.
In a city with excellent high end Italian options, leeward stands at the top of the list. Every dish is crafted to display the excellent quality of ingredients the chef and his team purchase. The servers and bar tenders go out of their way to be kind and hospitable. The owner, Raquel goes out of her way to make sure that everyone is taken care of and happy. If you are coming to Portland for a fine dining experience, you must try Leeward
The best meal we've had in years! Finally found meals with bold flavor. We shared the sausage/lentil plate and gnudi w/spinach. Wish we lived closer to become regulars.

One of the best gems in Portland. Not your old school, classic Italian restaurant- and that is a great thing! Creative menu with fresh pasta, local ingredients and incredible wine. The service, food, and atmosphere is always top notch.
Amazing food, amazing service. Clearly care about what they are creating and the well-being of their staff. Beautiful atmosphere - very fun to sit up at the bar if you’re worried about a wait!
My new favorite spot in town! We loved the vibes here as well as some amazing red wine (take their recs!). Focaccia is a must and pastas are all delicious
Leeward has seemingly mastered a somewhat specific type of really delicious pasta. Everything was so rich and heavy that we had a hard time finishing everything. That being said, even my complaint is somewhat a compliment to the chefs. We found all of our dishes great and would definitely come back.
