Hilltop Coffee is a neighborhood staple. The drinks are solid (the Portland Fog and Ginger Chai Latte here is five-star but Moonday is my fav for cappuccinos) but what I am most impressed by are the pastries. I can not emphasize this enough... THE PASTRIES. I grew up in the Bay Area so standards for me are Tartine in SF and Cheeseboard in Berkeley but Hilltop is a special gem for me. I'm not sure what it is but the biscuits + jam, cheddar scone, espresso mocha bundt cake, etc are things I miss on the regular. Love me some Tartine but really can't eat that everyday whereas I can have Hilltop everyday (my bank account + waistline hate me). It is homestyle with *chefs kiss*. My partner and I also prefer Hilltop's breakfast sandwich over Tandem. On Saturdays they have home-made donuts but these are so in-demand and in such limited supply, I haven't managed to get any since they sell out early. If you want the cutest local coffee shop vibes with some amazing bites and don't mind sitting outside, this is the place for you.

This is a cute little coffee shop. We’ve been walking to it each morning for the past 2 weeks. Super friendly staff, great coffee, loved the donuts and the blueberry muffins, and planning to try their sandwiches. Too sad they don’t allow indoor sitting now but hopefully the Covid situation would get better soon. They have couple tables outside :)

The Brioche Egg Sandwich seemed to melt in my mouth. This was probably the best egg sandwich I’ve ever had.

My favorite neighborhood coffee shop! Not only do they have a cute indoor/outdoor set up, the sweetest staff, and delicious toast specials (today was wild mushroom and scrambled eggs) the way they’ve navigated the pandemic has me a commited guest. They’ve adapted to the ups and downs all year with online ordering, a lovely pickup window, and are now welcoming walk-in service! Highly recommend at least stopping in for the most delightful warm buttered biscuit with jam ?
I was excited to try this spot out after seeing photos/reading reviews. Unfortunately I got a cappuccino with blown out foam and nothing special in the taste.
