We were disappointed in the change in menu from pre covid. Then they offered smaller plates so that you could order soup to nuts, enjoy every course and eat every bite. Now they have become just another restaurant. The food was ok, not memorable. Very ordinary.
Weâve been here a number of times and the food and ambiance has always been great. It was fine last night too except for a couple of issues- 1. Our table was next to the kitchen. There was smoke and a bit of heat. Next time weâll request the other room. 2. The Brussels sprouts appetizer sounded so good! The seasonings were wonderful. Sadly the spouts were so tough we really couldnât eat them easily. We chewed quite a bit, swallowed but eventually gave up. I suppose we could have said something but everything else was sooo good that we let it go. Weâll definitely be returning. We just wonât order the spouts again.
Visiting from NC and seeing an old friend who lives in Scarborough. It was lovely, the food was delicious & the service was great. We had the cute little table in the front window beside the front door!
We have been to David's Intown for years and most recently this is our second visit to 388. You can't be disappointed at either venue. Menus are a bit different, but the service and the quality of the meals are hard to beat. Either site will provide you with a great experience and well worth the expenditure.

We all had their hamburger, and each one was cooked as requested (ranging from medium rare to medium well); and the fries- with or without truffle oil - were delicious. This time we were seated near the entrance (and bar), so the sound level was significantly louder than expected.

Every time we visit Maine, we make it a point to come to David's 388. The staff, the food and quaint environment is perfect for any occasion. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
