There are several companies that ship lobster and other shellfish from Maine to other American cities. They're all reasonably expensive - after all, they're shipping live lobster, clams and other things directly to you. You can't really judge them on price - but you can judge on quality.
This is a really fun tour to take--not only do you get to actually be on a boat with lobstermen harvesting lobsters, they are teaching you what they are doing and they are very entertaining and gregarious while doing it. You will see a good bit of Portland's beautiful shore and be out on the open ocean, seeing water birds, possibly seals and if you are very lucky, a porpoise. Afterward, head to one of the local restaurants to sample the catch of the day!
