My meal was delicious. The butternut squash soup was smooth, and the flavor of the squash was the most present flavor. I love that it was not overpowered by anything else. The bartenders are excellent and friendly. They have an excellent absinthe with a strong flavor. The bartender said he was more than glad to pour me some as he had made a mixed drink using it, and the manager would not put it on the menu. He is an excellent bartender, and I enjoyed talking with him about alcohol.
Very good food, excellent service, classy comfortable atmosphere and surprisingly reasonable prices.
I had high hopes for restaurant but was unfortunately disappointed. The food was brought to the table very cold, the fries tasted like it was fried in stale oil, serving was very little, and waitress was not the friendliest. The taste was certainly lacking with food. For the price, would expect more with taste, customer service among other things.
Friendly people, nice environment. Had a steak, a little over cooked, but still had great flavor and presentation.
Upscale yet informal. Great breakfast and dinner!
Stàff was very nice, burger and fries were excellent! It was also very clean and orderly, will be back to try other items.
On a Saturday evening in Portland, it was strange to walk into a nearly empty restaurant in the downtown area, where high standards prevail! Nevertheless, we sat. Service was lackluster, but okay. Food was cold, tasteless and not inexpensive. $20 for a bad veggie burger. Never again. This doesn't reflect well on the hotel and falls far short of expectations that visitors have of Portland restaurants.
The food is great and so is the decoration. Very clean and warm… However the place takes far too long to serve food. Even when empty, this place is one of the slowest restaurants when it comes to serving food. I recommend it… if you are not in a rush
Super friendly bartender. Recommended happy hour wines which were great!
There's not much that can go wrong with a standard hotel breakfast of eggs, toast, coffee..but there's alot that can go right. Starting with the casual ambience and super efficient, friendly wait staff. Nice street views from the window tables. I stopped in for a quick breakfast before heading out for the day and was pleasantly surprised. The omelet was nicely cooked, not dry and overcooked as sometimes happens. I chose chicken sausage, cheddar and mushrooms as my 3 options. Delicious. I had a choice of toast and went with the wheat. It was perfectly toasted and served with housemade ( yes housemade, I asked) blueberry jam. But the real stars on the posts were the hashbrowns. Just enough spice, perfectly crunchy on the outside and tender inside. So often hashbbrowns are an insipid afterthought, but not in this case. There are other standard breakfast options ...Eggs Benedict, pancakes, eggs every which way...and sides... although I have to say a side of lobster is a new one for me! I'll come back tomorrow for breakfast again. Well worth the $14.
