Sit at the bar if you get a chance so you can watch the magic happen! The man with the vintage glasses knows his craft!
wonderful desserts and setting
Drinks and dessert! I joined the ladies while they got some martinis, they were all a hit. We also got dessert, everyone else got cake and I got creme brulee. The cakes were all very rich and tasty but hard to finish. When my creme brulee came out, the server torched it for me right at the table and I got to crack into the fresh caramelly top, so delicious! Great spot if you're looking for some decadence.
beautiful atmosphere. tucked away location with low lighting and comfy seating. service was fantastic. I had the most amazing piece of German chocolate cake with a nice glass of milk. My husband had a fantastic 14 year old scotch. thank you for a wonderful experience with great food and drink.
We went to Bar of Chocolate upon a recommendation by the restaurant manager of a nearby establishment. He suggested we sit at the bar and meet Jim, the barkeep. What a fabulous recommendation!Jim is a mixologist of the old school, mixing by feel. A large repertoire of spirits and wines, coffee and chocolate of course. The menu includes a nice selection of pastries, cheese plate, olives and other delights.Either before dinner or winding up the night, you will be glad you visited. Say hello to Jim from Linda and Bruce.
My friends and I came in tonight to celebrate my best friends birthday. We had Georgia as our server and she was one of the best servers we’ve ever had! Super super sweet and friendly and was helpful in cocktail choices for us. Best server ever!! Being in the industry I so much appreciate great service and she exceeded the best service ever!
Excellent martinis and desserts! Nice atmosphere, great service and the owner was very welcoming.
This was our favorite place for a drink. So many great martini choices. The peanut butter was my favorite. The grasshopper tasted like a thin mint cookie. Jim the bartender is top notch! Great creme Brule also.
If you are in Portland you must go to the Bar of Chocolate. Cosay atmosphere, excellent drinks. Jim the bartender was on fire with every drink we ordered. The chocolate salted caramel was my absolute favorite .
extremely overrated. “gourmet cakes” is pushing it. pretty good martinis but i would recommend skipping it
