I always love to eat at chickadee but tonight i went there for my birthday and splurged .. ordered the boston style baked scallops in butter crumbs. It was like digging scallops out of a pile of sawdust . Terrible and expensive. I asked for melted butter and it made it edible. But not really very good. Big disappointment
if everyone knew what was going on at that resturant then they wouldn't go. I was an employee there an one day was sick, throat closing an everything, light headed(mind u I a up an down the stairs doing dishes an keeping up) so I left on my shift. I go there today to get my bike an the owners son was literally shaking telling me to sit in my car an wait BC I asked for MY property, MY bike in garage....waitresses giving free shots to there friends once owner leaves, an doesn't empty there dishes for us dishwashers, an also does not wear gloves WHAT SO EVER!!!!! nothing. picking at peoples food to taste it, ya I have seen It all working there. I will never go here again
If you want shrimp that is not deveined and still has the poop in it for dinner. And you bring it to their attention and send the shrimp scampi back and speak to the manager. His response was that all the gulf shrimp are like that and if I were to go to grid iron or any other restaurant they would serve it the same way with poop still in them. I don’t think we will ever go back.
If I could give this restaurant 10 stars , I would.Mary D (short blond waitress that worked on May 7th) - shout out to the BEST server and hands down BEST service my mother and I have ever experienced! She was fast , had an amazing personality , and she handled us with outstanding service and care. There aren't many waitresses who can wait on as many tables as she had and fill everyones need, be attentive , warm , and accomodating with a smile.The manager on duty (son of owner) was absolutely charming , extremely nice and accommodating , and a pleasure to speak to. It was so cool to hear stories of this place , and the many years of history behind it! It was extremely busy and this manager was working just as hard as his staff , had everything under control , and was even attentive to his own staffs needs during the rush. I apologize I forgot your name but BIG SHOUT OUT TO YOU!The food was AMAZING, it did not disappoint !The seafood stuffing was so good we asked to take some home and said we would pay for it. The manager had no issue accomodating us ! The fan tail shrimps were large ,meat , juicy , and perfectly breaded , the chowder was out of this world ! The haddock bites are soft and flaky , very flavorful! The stuffed mushrooms with the seafood stuffing was my favorite !Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your help with making my mom's weekend so special. It is one of our favorite experiances and we WILL be back.
I was just there 3 weeks ago and I have to agree with some of the other people who left comments. They certainly don't disappoint you with the service or their food. I try and go as often as I can, I am a 10 minute walk to Chick-A-Dee. Food is amazing and staff are very friendly, most places we go to the staff is not as friendly as chick-a-dee.
Decent food . Good Price . Large menu . Outdoor seating . Friendly staff. Great coleslaw . I had the big haddock sandwich special.
First time went in everybody was very very friendly waitress was very good their job and the food was awesome had the fish sandwich and fries the fish was so big that it didn’t even fit on the roll I will go back to this place if I’m still here
Got the Alfredo, it was cold and probably one of the worst Alfredos I've ever had. Onion rings were good, coleslaw was mushy and my friends fries were cold. Was asked what we would like done. Take the bill because it was very poor service and the food was not good for the price they put on it. The situation was not handled well by the owner himself. I will definitely not be returning and I will not recommend anyone else to go either.Edit* to the owner who wrote back. For one I would never call any server a b**** nor would my friend. I was actually going to bring the left overs home to feed to the pigs that live out back of my house at the neighbors. I did not leave a tip because I was embarrassed and wanted to get out of there you and your other employee were extremely unprofessional. Also taking $3 dollars off a bill is not a discount in my eyes since the service was poor and the food very mediocre. I apologize to your server she was not the issue you sir and your other employee were. Good luck too you! Also the food was left right on the table we didn't bring anything home ?
It's not the food it's the problems with spotting them treating staff poorly. You can always tell if a restaurant is quality by how they treat their workers. Message to the owner, your workers are people and they tell people about what happens. You need workers just as much as you need customers so treat them how you want them to treat you. In any note I'll leave a review in another 6 months if things improve.
Always clean and friendly. Excellent work staff and owner. Great food and prices with lots of choices. Whole family has known them for years and never been disappointed. They just do it RIGHT!!!
