We are traveling in from PA for a vacation and tried this stop based on reviews and ratings. First on the plus side, the food was pretty good. We got Stuffed Mushrooms to start. The stuffing was fantastic and the mushrooms were well cooked. My wife got the minishore with some of the best clam chowder I ever had. I got the Captains Platter which was good. I found that the fried clams were the star of that show.A few negatives. For starters, they are still in pandemic menu so it's limited. That's okay but not advertised anywhere I saw on their website. The service was also pretty slow, but they have signage up front to let you know they are short staffed so it was expected.

This place has had some ups an downs ..the pandemic took its toll on a lot of business but this place made it out the darkness their not just the same as before the pandemic an also their fire took them out of the food game for a bit but again if you like seafood it’s well worth the trip to High street in Auburn maine for sure but they have much more then seafood like pasta steak chicken chowder soups sandwiches ….their also a family Owned operated non franchise home style Restaurant that in my opinion it’s one of the best places to eat in the surrounding area for either Dining in or take out ..

We just ate here for the first time and we will be back. The food was great, and the staff is so friendly! We watched Crystal handle 5 tables that were all sat within a few minutes of each other and she handled it beyond well. It was amazing to watch her!

Great place ! Went Saturday night and sat at the bar. Service was awesome. Lobster Chowder and appetizer was amazing. Friendly Bartender and wait staff. Owner even came over to say hello.

Always have to come here when I'm in Maine, nice large and tasty food

Service was good . The food was disgusting. What a waste of $$. Frozen shrimp in What you call chowder. It should be called butter and a little cream mixed together with nasty frozen shrimp and mostlikely frozen lobster . The 2 tiny pieces you get for 3 dollars extra.Never again not for me .

Went there last Thursday for dinner. I'd been dieing for a decent prime rib and found it here. Medium and juicy as ordered. Hope to go back next time I'm in the area.

The worst fried clams I ever had.. and I have had many . The bellies were black and runny.. no eye appeal and not tasty .Very expensive.. I will say the chowder was very good . The waitress was the reason I gave an extra star.. she was attentive and pleasant .

The worstThe wait staff should be trained on how to handle customers. When asked how my meal was, I literally said "disgusting, can dogs eat this?" And the reply I received was " I don't see why not, I gave my dog seafood and it didn't bother him." Then she walked away. Not one mention of maybe getting something else.I thought I'd try again .The next time she walked by about 5 min. or so.. I politely asked for a to go box and saying very clearly how gross I thought it was and I hope the dogs like it so it wouldn't be a waste of $60. Again, went completely over her head. Not one apology, not one attempt to rectify the experience. NOTHING.I politely paid for my meal and said quite clearly to the hostess and a couple of workers chatting near the exit that we would not be back. Not one person asked why.I will say that the crab stuffed mushrooms were delicious. The seafood platter was very dry. It tasted like some one else ordered it, changed there mind and it sat under a heat lamp for an hour. The kicker for me was at the end when she came over with the to go boxes, she asked if we wanted desert? To Wich I replied, "that was gross, what makes you think I'd want desert?" And again.. nothing from my waitress .I guess they can't all be great places to go. Sad. My wife and I eat out quite a bit and usually have a good time. Not the case here. I don't like slamming businesses in my reviews but this one would have been funny if not true. My advice.... You get better seafood at a steak house.

This was my first visit with my mom for lunch. We got a cup of fish chowder & seafood chowder, very very good. I ordered a grill cheese with tomato, it was on a soft bun looking bread, and was a bit soggy from the tomato, but was good, the fries were awesome. My mom got the chicken Ceasar salad, and I got potato skins. The salad was good, but small, the skins were a bit over done, black ends. I've never had potato skins with the liquid like nacho cheese and mozzarella on top with bacon bits. I had to ask for the sour cream that came with it. Overall it was an OK not what I expected.
