My first time visit and maybe something was off this evening. The service was very good and attentive but the food just did not meet my expectations. I tried the blackened snapper with a baked potato and salad. The snapper was a nice size piece but the taste was lacking. I took some bread pudding to go after reading previous reviews but my serving tasted burnt. If I am back in the area, I might give a second try.
The staff was very friendly. We had gumbo which was very good. My husband ordered scallops and I had shrimp and catfish. We were totally happy with our meals. We were looking for Cajun cuisine and Vera's was recommended to us. So glad we went!
Stopped in here to check it out because of the name. Since we too are “Vera’s” and we love seafood. Started with the gator sausage, and onion rings. Both were good, but nothing we would ever need to have more than once. Dinner will have you coming back again and again though. We all ordered something different and then tasted them all. Every item was delicious, a symphony of flavors in every bite! Servings are generous, none of us were able to eat all our meal, which was sad because we are traveling so there’s no way to take it home for tomorrow. I was thrilled they had some shirts for us to buy and take home to the hubby since he didn’t make this trip with us. Staff was mostly young girls, friendly but not over the top like some places. It’s a nice laid back place to stop in, relax, eat… hang a dollar on the wall and move on down the road.If you made it this far hit the thumbs up for me!
It was very pleasant. Food was fresh and and delivered in a timely manner. I had catfish Ponchartrain and my husband had half and half seafood platter.
Their seafood platter was fantastic! The fish and oysters were amazing. Shrimp is usually my favorite, but the fish and oysters were so good, they came in a close 3rd!!

I grew up eatting vera's seafood, I really miss it being on the lake. I made my last trip, the last few times the service was very bad. Forgot to order half the food. So, some of the family was served and the others had to wait, they wasn't even busy. It was a longer wait thwn usual, ev3n when packed. My shrimp was raw. That did it. We had a good 50 year run, but that was my last visit. It has been bad for the last three visits.
